The fact that home inspectors have no liability other than what they charged for the inspection tells you all you need to know.

Years ago while I was rewiring a large house to a concerted triplex asked the cheap owner if he was going to replace the very old questionable cast iron drain pipe leading up to the second & third floor. House was rmpty for over ten years. Fast forward he had leaks in the wall & ceiling from bad drain lines. Probably cost him over $2,000 after he had to replace pipe, sheetrock on two floors, spackle & paint. Plumber tokd him while wall was open to pay him to install plugs in drain line then fill them with water for 24 hours but didn't want to spend the $.

This is what I fear is happening in my walls in my house upper and lower bath. Along with drain pipe and vent I have drum traps under tub sink and shower. All I can say you got real LUCKY that this house was modern enough to have drywall and not plaster and lath. I have plaster lath with massive crown molding that will likely have to be destroyed between the 2 floors. That is my next project.

I just removed the HVAC housing from my 2002 Ram Van. It is not necessary to cut through the sheet metal. If you remove the cross member above the radiator, remove the condenser and disconnect all screws holding the radiator the radiator can be pivoted slightly. Then removing the right headlight housing you can bend the white sheet metal piece rather than cutting through it. This allows room to remove the housing. The problem with hacking through the sheet metal is you destroy the integrity of the front end and there's nothing to keep the radiator and headlight from moving.

Great video. The only issue is hacking the sheet metal. The shop manual is exceptionally good and has been reprinted. It says to remove the white piece. It might be possible to pull the HVAC housing out by removing the black radiator support, radiator and condenser. No matter how you do it it's a bear of a job. On my 2002 van the evaporator has a mat of thick crude so there's no way there's been any air flow for a long time. The beauty of a van is little space is waste on a hood. The problem is everything is crammed together so you have to take it completely apart to do anything. It takes a lot of patience.

The Sika crack fix is to stop the crack from transferring to a new surface you apply over the crack. You can tile or epoxy or just caulk over top and you should be good 👍 it’s not to fill the crack

I feel your pain. Bought a house 6 years ago. Home inspection missed code violation issues with plumbing, electrical and structural. Due to his contract, he’s responsible for nothing. So I got on line, gave him miserable reviews and used every media outlet available to warn people about this idiot. No requirements in GA for a person to become a home inspector. Just hang out a sign and charge people $500/per inspection. What a joke!
