I played this game when I was 11 years old in 1990. I played this game so many times that I could finally finish the game easily every time I wanted.

It was really cool what they were able to do. I can imagine the work and time it must have taken to program all of this. It seems to have been done with a lot of love. Whether it was useful or not is another question. I remember spending hours enchanted with Paint drawing little houses. So Bob seems great to me. I would have loved it if I had known about it back then.

I remember being 12 or 13 and playing this one between 1992 - 1994 in some 1984 Apple IIc's we had at school... So, monochrome (green or orange) and with no sounds (no audio setup at school, or at least not that I remember)... But it was great! It really got me into racing games later on.

I had this game on my company computer. The sound it made when one plane was completed therefore was not too welcome. But I managed to run it in the debugger and patched the offending instructions with NOPs. This new version made quite a career in the company LOL.

Back in the 94-96 period, I was studying CAD design, 3D mechanical drawings, etc… and every lunch, the whole class were playing Block Out on the school computers. Many times teachers caught us but didn’t care because it was helping to figure out 3D and therefore improve our drawings. We had some serious high level and we were playing at an unimaginable speed… I couldn’t do it today, I’m all rusty, but damn we were mastering those key commands to flip the blocks in the proper orientation. What a great time…

Aaah sweet times! I remember working my speed up to the level 9 as a starting poínt so I could get more points in the end :D And if you were able to survive on level 9 long enough it switched to a "death" level, my best was to survive about 90 secs on that one :D

In 2007 when this video was uploaded, I was very much enjoying playing FS4 and the late 80s (when this sim came out) did not seem that far in the past. Now in 2022 I am still very much enjoying FS4 but late 80s really do feel like another era...
