Julian, what motor setup are you using with this airframe for sport flying as in the video?

I watched this video and wow there are a ton of variables to screw up during this process. Is there a proper instruction manual yet? Link 🔗 please?

Julian, are you available to answer any questions? I'm setting up my 1st full-house 4m F5J plane and just have a couple simple questions. I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Jerry G in USA

Hello, I recently acquired a pre-owned Enigma 4m with servos and motor installed. NOT IDS! I'm trying to get the control surfaces to line up mechanically 1st before resorting to trim/sub-trim transmitter adjusting. However, the wing and tail pushrods are solid without any adjustment like clevises, etc... How can I align things without having to use Tx programming? Or is there anything wrong with that? Thank you

Fantastic flight! I started into the hobby this year and got the soaring virus. Already played around with adding telemetry to video too. After starting with F3K, F5J now looks VERY tempting. 😄 Hope you have some more content soon for my daily soaring fix! 😄

I had a 30% scale Jungmann and it was one of the most fun aircraft I've ever flown. The large scale Jungmanns and Jungmeisters have the classic handling characteristics of the full scale aircraft.

Interesting that many people set the speed mode switch to up which is opposite the elevator control where forward = fast. On real gliders the trim works like the stick.. push it forward to increase speed, which is effectively what the mode switch it (3 fixed trim settings). But hey whatever you like :)

It’s a nice plane, but Nan models never answer a single question when u ask them!!! At least they can place the multiplex plugs in the fuselage for the tail servos!!!Where is the CG for this model ? It would be cool to know from the builder and not ask all over the web to get an answer !!!Which motor,Esc, battery and prop did u use ? Where did u place the x10 mini for the rudder and the other servo for the elevator ???? It would be cool to see some pics of these servos…

My longest thermal flight was 4 3/4 hours. Flown from Crestline, just west of Sky Park, in a hang glider. Max altitude was 11, 600 feet ASL. I used to hand launch RC planes back in the day. I had a 2 meter balsa glider (Larry Jolly design )that worked pretty well. Nothing like today's gliders. Thinking about getting back into it. Was a member of Pacific Soaring Club in Anaheim. we all know you are a brilliant flier...fact...but for me this is a video of the motor on quite a lot and a very flat day which is useless for gliding and showing the glider off.....it looks more like a powered airplane to me....more continuous footage is better for gliders pure flight....i would guess you are one of the best glider fliers in the world but this video is not for me.....keep flying :)

Aerobatics with an F5J plane is a matter of taste. Sure, the strong wind versions will accept a lot of abuse, but it's still looking wrong.

Don't fully remember (it was ~25 years ago), at least half an hour, I think longer. Had my Mirage 2M fully specked out. Now it seems with the new RPAS regulations in Canada this plane would be considered too heavy without significant paperwork, and you're not allowed to fly that high. I am hoping to build a small DLG to fly at the farm, so some servos would help out.
