6:20 Get the proper PoziDriv bit and you don't need to "modify" anything. The correct tool for the job.. FYI, PoziDriv screws have a distinctive pattern on the screw head, which makes them different from regular Philips screws. Same goes for JIS screws (Japanese version of the Philips).. As well, 8:35 these aluminum plates embedded into the rubber will seize to the holding screw (dissimilar metals) and become impossible to remove later. I'd coat the screws with anti-seize, or better yet fabricate inserts from brass instead of the aluminum.

Mike i just watched your videos on the Cadillac , you did a really nice job, you made a real nice car out of it, i used mid to late sixtys cads to tow my race cars in the seventys, i was wondering if you found anybody to rework the radio, it looks like a signal seaker like the 56 Lincoln i am building now , Pete Hughs told about your Channel , i sure like it. @rickmartin5922 Hi Rick! Yeah that radio worked before I took the Cadillac apart. Though I never touched the radio it stopped making sound but turns on. I'm assuming a tube has decided to quit! I figured i would take it out and start diagnosing..... some day! Ha! Glad you liked the channel and I'm really happy to have you along. Pete is a good guy. Watching him for 8-9 years now.

Great work and obviously very tedious and detailed work at that! Sorry about your back, rest it up and take it easy. I have a bad back and the older I get the longer it takes to recover when I strain it, or it goes out. It used to take a matter of days, now it takes a month or more.
@junksautomotive4 күн бұрын
@greggsvintageworkshop8974 Thanks Gregg! I'm really the same way. I have a degenerated disc they wanna operate on. I say NO! Two destroyed knees, bad left elbow and both shoulders are bad. If they did all they wanted, I'd be in recovery the rest of my life lol

The tools for doing drum brakes only cost $50; worth the money if you do your own brakes. Try needle nose vise grips if you don’t have the tools.

Another great video. The format works really well. I remember the striker on the driver's door on my MGA was tired, and the door kept going to the safety catch. Kept packing it. What amazed me, was the car was only ten years old at the time. Ten very long and hard years, I think. Catch you next week.
@junksautomotive4 күн бұрын
Thanks John! My format is to just be myself and try to make stuff I would watch. I think those mga bodies move around so much that the door don't stay adjusted and everything wears quickly who knows! Glad your watching buddy! Talk soon!

Loved the Dart video, hahahaha. The best example of convertible Flex is the Chrysler Sebring K-car convertible. Had a guy bring one to me to adjust the door latches because a door would pop open on a big dip in the road. He ended up taking it to a custom body shop who added a couple of torque boxes and extra bracing. Putting this car up on a hoist, the doors would get a 4" gap, after the bracing, flex reduced to about an inch and a half.
@junksautomotive5 күн бұрын
@toejam503 Heck buddy, I've worked on Chrysler products in dealerships for 36 years. Those things did that stuff. Dont raise it on the the lift with a door open! Lol the old convertible Lebarons were real bad! This MGA is surprisingly solid. If it moves, it's not much! Cheers Toejam. I still love the name! 😆
