Hind sight is always 20/20 but I would have prep. the inner and outer at the same time then lay the primer on. That way you could blast the under side of the hood with a pressure washer.

Of course! Getting the outside done and in poly primer was a goal knowing I would have to deal with it later. The bigger problem was the amount of bare metal at most of the time during the process being in such a non climate controlled area... if you know what I mean ;) Just figured it would be more time effective doing it this way. @junksautomotive You're doing a great job and love the British racing green! My older brother had a 1966 MGB in that color that he taught me how to drive a stick. Come to think of it every car I've owned has been a stick except for a Ford f250 that I only used for towing my boat. I took a Mazda 626 up to 240,000 miles on the stock clutch. My Passat I drive now is at 220,000 miles on the stock clutch. My brother must have taught me right! 😄 Also I play a little bit of guitar, so that's a win, win watching your videos!

Not sure why you caught grief doing it this way. As you've said, it's not a concourse project, but I'm assuming, a practical road car. The inside of the boot and bonnet won't get serious scrutiny, but will get wear and tear, so if it makes sense to you, then all's right with the world 😊.

Hi Hazzy! It's about using a car lift to lift a removed transmission and the new one. I was taking the new one out of the box it came in and then able to put the old one in. Then put the new one on the trans jack. Alot of guys just pick them up with a helper. I learned a long time ago.... save your back 😊
