I won't act as if I understand anything about abstract art, but I love the earthy tones combined with the blues of the water, as well as that texture you created at the top right. And in leaving certain parts clear of any color you have created a sense of air as well, allowing it to breathe if that makes sense. Also interesting to hear some of the thought processes while creating this piece! 💖👏

I loved painting that bit as much as I enjoy looking at it. 😻 I think you and I would have such a jol (party) playing abstract painting together. I don't understand abstract art either. I think that's kinda the trick to creating it - gotta switch the thinking brain off. 😽

Thank you An! 😻 I have no regrets about getting myself this ruler - it makes me very happy. 😸 The only reason I don't put anchor points inside the image too is because I live in horror that I'll finish the drawing then discover the ghosts of L23 and M24 have come back to haunt me. 😹

I sometimes feel getting that dark background in is the trickiest part of the entire drawing - it always stresses me out. 😅 Great work on that little out-of-focus hawk moth! 💖🙌 I think making it look out-of-focus is probably harder because you always have to balance and make sure you don't put too much detail in it or the effect would be ruined. But you did an amazing job! 💯

Thanks An! 😻💐💖 I used to be very shot-sighted (got my eyes lasered ⚡) so I spent a lot of my life seeing everything as a little blurry. 😹 I feel kind of nostalgic for my short-sighted days whenever I draw something that's out-of-focus. 🤭 😅 The background's one of my favourite bits. I like fiddling with the silhouette - where the subjects meets the background.

I love a bit of rebellion and I think it was a really good call to add in some ochres and siennas! Also nice to hear that the water soluble oil painting can be applied without any mediums - just add water. ☺👍Using all kinds of mediums is what has always put me off from trying oil paints.

I like the Winton oil paints a lot 😻 i highly recommend them for experimenting with. They do take yonks to dry when not watered down but there's upsides to that too. 🙏 Thanks for watching, An! 😻

Cheers love! In a minute I'll be drawing that incy wincy spider. 😻 I think the fingers look all wrong but maybe that kinda adds to the symbolism of the piece. 🤷♀️ Sometimes the seemingly imperfect results are better than the supposedly perfect ones.

@anvankets Did some more work on the fingers now and they're starting to look right even though they aren't technically right. Hard to describe but it's like laying tiles - gotta choose the most visible wall as the parrallel. The wonky bits can get hidden behind the door.

Thank you Cat for sharing this! 🤩I found it interesting to see the painting develop and could also really feel how your energy went from being in an overthinking state of mind to a more playful one and then to a more relaxed while still playful state of mind. Haha, it even transferred onto me while watching as I also went from feeling restless and anxious to more at peace. 😅And the music you chose also reflected that nicely. Also really loved how you explained the techniques you used to create this painting. 💖

Wow! When I first saw an image, before I looked at the number of likes I thought it would have at least 150K likes. Apparently the video didn't reach enough people. Otherwise I'm sure it would have hundreds of thousands of likes. Amazing work. I don't know why I compared your level of detail to H.R. Giger's level of realism but this is amazing. Great work. Look at me wandering through the make-up section like a pro even though I've never used make-up in my life. 😄 Did have to explain to a store clerk once what I was going to use some brushes for - I wanted to feel the bristles of the brush to see if they were not too flexible.
