Another great video! Something confuses me about the toggles on the sub and LOC. The "audio" toggle on the amp turns it off when there is no signal? And GTO does the same thing for the LOC? What is DC offset on the amp? Also, what did you select for "load select" on the LOC (20, 60, or 20K ohms)? I know nothing about electronics, my apologies if I'm asking obvious questions. I'm pretty late to the party and you've already swapped these parts out, but hopefully you still remember the settings you used!
@nprform
@nprform 15 күн бұрын
@@PapaHetFan Thank you! For the LOC I use “REM IN” because I like using a traditional remote turn on wire vs using a signal sense option like GTO. I’ve had inconsistent results using signal turn on/off options such as GTO. When using the remote turn on the sub should be set to “REM”. It has a DC offset option, which is the same as GTO. The remote wire is so easy to tap into in the Elantra, I would recommend that over GTO or DC Offset. The load select I used was 20kohm. I didn’t have any load issues with the Elantra’s Bose system.

I'd love to make some wiring changes, but I'm a total noob and don't wanna mess with something that isn't broken. I suspect they tapped into the rear speakers for the sub, since the sub totally dies if I shift the sound to the front speakers (assuming the actual sub signal is not tied to the rear speakers too lol), so that might need a quick fix too. @@MrTherandomvidsguy The amplifier receives signal via a digital signal from the head unit. The amplifier’s speaker wire plug is then sending the audio and power out to the speakers. You have to tap into the speaker wires for signal and then run wire to the speakers or cut the wires and split signal coming out of the amp to a new amp or processor and the speaker wire side to the amplifier’s speaker output. There isn’t a digital signal converter made for this car at this time. It is possible to make your own converter, but not all the factory functions will work as OEM, such as the volume control.
