Getting my N Line in about 2 weeks or so
@luisarsuaga76372 ай бұрын
I like the N-line a lot. I might prefer the subtle styling of N-line over the N. But that 7 speed DCT worries me. Some say it's jerky and it's perhaps the only car in the entire Hyundai line up that use it. In almost any forums or videos I search online has someone complaining that they had to replace the transmission prematurely. I want to drive something sporty but that it is also smooth and reliable. What are your thoughts on the N-line transmission? (For reference my daily driver is a MK7 1.8T Golf which already kinda have a jerky automatic transmission hehe)
@nprform2 ай бұрын
@@luisarsuaga7637 I had a Golf GTI prior to the Elantra N and I would say the transmission is very similar in jerkyness. The unfortunate side effect of a DCT transmission is the jerkyness it exhibits during slow driving, but it makes this up with how fast it can shift during spirited driving. As far as Hyundai reliability, that’s something up for debate. I can say my wife and I both have Hyundai DCTs and after about 3 years, neither one of us have had any issues.

I've owned an 2018 Elantra GT Sport since 2020, got it CPO back then during the pandemic for a deal & a half & I've loved the car, it's a hatchback & has tons of room + Hyundai loaded it with features for the price, like you get everything - pano sunroof, cooled seats, rear AC, decent Infinity sound system w/ sub, wireless charger, just a bunch of stuff that most common brands didn't offer back in 2018, esp for $30K. Performance has always been decent outta that 1.6t as well & although the 7spd DCT has started acting a lil strange over the past year I've been able to get a 6s flat 0-60 on my Dragy which really isn't terrible for 201hp & 195lbs torque. That being said, it's prob been the literal most unrelible car I've ever owned, at least newer car & working with Hyundai to use the warranty is always a nightmare, & then they'll end up having the car for 6+ months. So back in 2023 I got really sick of dealing with it, but didn't wanna get rid of the car bc I actually do love it, so just ended up ordering a 2024 Audi A4 Allroad Prestige DGM with the Black Optics package & just gave the GT Sport to my gf lol & I absolultely LOVEE the Audi. It's a good amount quicker, about 5s 0-60 but it does have 261hp/ 273lbs torque + their DCT is a wet system, like how the Elantra N's is so shifts are even better, but really these N-Lines & Forte GT's aren't nothing to sneeze at, just wish Hyundai would get their reliability down pat. Kia's replacing the Forte GT this coming year with the K4 & from what I saw, they're dropping 11hp from the 1.6t down to 190hp, & they're switching to a standard torque converter auto, which isn't a bad thing fr, like I said my 7spd has been having some weird issues over the past year & it's a dry system anyways, so low speed is always really jerky & you really gotta let them heat up a bit before driving or the clutch packs slip a ton

You don’t know what you are talking about out. This is not the case nor it hasn’t been for over a decade. Currently, Hyundai’s reliability is generally considered to be strong. According to various sources including Consumer Reports and J.D. Power, Hyundai ranks well in terms of reliability. Consumer Reports often places Hyundai in the top tiers of its reliability rankings, noting that Hyundai models typically have fewer problems compared to the industry average. J.D. Power’s Vehicle Dependability Study also frequently highlights Hyundai, particularly praising the brand for the reliability of its vehicles over time. Hyundai often scores above average in J.D. Power’s assessments, indicating a lower number of reported problems among owners of three-year-old vehicles. So overall, Hyundai is regarded as a reliable brand, often on par with or surpassing other mainstream automakers. GTFO
