I had an awful ex-cyberstalker (not even an ex girlfriend or boyfriend, the abuse is harder to notice when you’re not dating them I guess) who was really hoping I would become the next Chris Chan, my fantasy illustrations were bad and I was an autistic novelist who felt discouraged to draw my book characters my arch nemesis dismissed as “elf books” when he was a sci-fi snob. I’m still not good at drawing but now I’m writing cybergothic horror novels my ex-cyberstalker would hate even more than the autistic fuelled changeling fantasy books I was writing before.

I remember having volume 1 and volume 4 specifically. I also remember the book from the challenge, it's crazy she was so young when she published that!

I learned to paint still-life at age 5, I feel that. But don’t worry, saying you suck is like 90% of the creative process. Forging a little unpleasable superego tutor in your head that recites the mantra “Now do it again but PROPERLY this time!” Not fun but it *does* make us all better at our work.
