You should include the totes measurements. And then people can just adjust accordingly to their totes.

What if your totes are larger than 27 gallons and heavy. Can you still do this?

THANK YOU! I was late to the tote rack build also... I have 10-15 of these yellow top, 27-gallon totes and wanted to build a rack. You are 100% correct, they aren't all the same size. Like most folks, I bought what was on sale. I had some from Sam's, Home Depot, Menards and Costco, so I had to sort and swap out totes to have enough of all the same size after I built a rack. Thanks again for posting this valuable information.

Watched 3 times now, just to be sure, LOL. Building it now, but using 2x2 for the rails and the exact same setup except flipped 180 degrees. Wish me luck. Appreciate the video, very nicely created.

Some bigger wheels I think this would be a nice setup to roll into a box trailer. Jobsite workstation. I'd add a flip up Outfeed Table and maybe a breaker box with inlet port to connect it to a generator.

Found this video as I research my own solution for a ceiling mounted TV for my garage. I am looking at using a 10ft length of unistrut ($40) and a unistrut TV mount trolley ($70).

My brother bought the X1C and I was looking for info on the printer to find out if I wanted to get into 3d printing and came across this video. It has always seemed too finicky and I didn't want to just print trinkets. This video was very informative. I am definitely getting into 3d printing.

I'd be interested in the options of a county inspector and structural engineer. As an advanced handyman I've never heard of hanging weight from the roof system. Trusses and such rest on walls. The walls in effect push up on the roof members. Not pull. Until approved by a qualified individual I wouldn't store anything heavier than packing noodles. Also concur with the door hardware interference and safety hazard you've created. Since your using threaded rods lift the platform out of the way or put a big note on the floor to kill power to the opener motor before climbing up. Good thoughts but your execution is questionable and might come back to bite you.

Looks nice! I'm jealous of that space above the garage door... My garage ceiling is about where your shelves are, so I don't have the option. :-/

Nice vid, would have left a layer or 2 underneath the camera, or put something in after the fact and cut a couple more in the top layer. But if its an every day, would have just put it in the top layer and a bit of the bottom. (but that would be awkward if you wanted to remove the top layer to get to the bottom. I'd also try and find a clear pad of some sort for the top just to protect if it fell over. I'd love 360 coverage. We have a ton of equipment and I've been wanting to do this with my packout kits for years, just never took the time. Cool to see you went for it. As a videographer, you're skills are great man!

I noticed that you used oak plywood rather than say melamine or something similar. Wondering which is best for shelves since putting heavy cans on painted plywood typically has issues with sliding and putting groves in the paint over time. Any suggestions?

What if you don't put any pipe , only gravel. Water will still drain. Why even put a pipe in your situation
@fxm571516 күн бұрын
Nicely done. If this needed to be free standing, when I build this kind of open frame I usually use wire rope with turnbuckles as two opposing diagonals across the back to provide rigidity with minimal additional bulk.

Great design, but one big point of constructive criticism. Table saws are meant to rip for the most part, but a lot of the YT how-tos on how to make a mobile workstation make it so the table saw is for cross-cutting. More than anything I want the table saw rotated 90 degrees from this design, so I have a smooth outfeed table. Do I cross cut on the table saw? Sure, but I use my sled for that in most cases if I cannot use the miter saw. Thanks for the effort in making this video, I will incorporate some of it in my design, especially roll-outs for other tools.

If this line is only transporting water from one place to the other you don't need that gravel. this trench is built on a decline. There's no reason to put in the gravel to collect more water

I am not a woodworker. Not that I don't try. So here is my silly question. If the fir is better and it is a 2x4 why not put it at the bottom since that is where all the weight will be carried and put the pine at the top? Thanks

After all this time how have the bins stood up? People have asked me if the bins can handle being fully loaded and hung from the lip.
@mikecoughlin412819 күн бұрын
I don’t have the depth to work with so I want to have them slide in the other way, shallow side. Do you think these large bins would have enough support if they hang on the short side of the bin instead of the long side as done here? I’ll use them for garage items such as tools and tool related consumables.
