I did pull ups | similar but on my closet door instead. A few reps every day . My back became more defined and I even switched up which pull-up technique i did every set (every time I used my closet or wanted to while in my room.

I got a pull-up bar and use it near daily. Took two years or so to get into the top ten percent of physiques out there. In public it's easy to see some black pill truths out there, and the public had definitely noticed by that point. The way that people treat you is different. It very much is still dehumanizing to be objectified but better that then being invisible. There is no winning. At best you get to pick how you'll lose.

Oh yeah, i remember doing 100 push ups twice a day as a teenager.. strenght got pretty fast build up and the muscle-lines and structure shape (there's a certain term for that, which I can't think of right now, feel free to add to) was awesone after just 2 months and even more after 3... can recommend it to anyone younger who wants to start building yourself stronger. (Pls. at first warm up your your upper body with circular movements for 20-30sec... at least the joints of your shoulder ,arm and especially your wrists. Speaking as someone with skinny wrists with carpal tunnel issues. (since I broke my wrist in a backward fall. (a part on the right-hand side directly after the hand moved out of the joint and downwards so that my hand was no longer at the same height, but looked like a right-angled step from the arm to the hand...😅 I didn't even feel any pain, but I was no longer able to move)

Never again, sorry. I'm 54. I injured myself 3 times last year doing this despite doing everything right including accelerating VERY slowly....and I had even been running for months leading up to sprinting. I've learned my lesson. Unfortunately my body just can't physically handle this.
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 11 сағат бұрын
One of the most common issues I see in sprinting is it's a very intense demand on strength, explosiveness and mobility, and if there is any weak link in the chain it will expose it quickly and often painfully. With some people it's weak hamstrings or achillies tendon, but more often its restrictions in the hips that don't allow the legs to swing through the gait cycle equally on both sides. Sometimes it takes months of consistent hip and leg mobility work to be able to sprint injury free. Not sure if that's your particular issue but it's worth looking into.

@moversodyssey Definitely wasn't weak calves. I still do 50 1 legged calf raises on stairs, 3x/week.

@@moversodyssey The area I kept getting injured at is the back of the left leg, jut above the back of the knee. It was so bad after 1 of the 3 times I injured it that it took a full 4 months to recover. It's just frustrating because I WANT to sprint because I know how awesome the benefits are from doing it.

This is why bodybuilders are often less strong compared to Farmers, Soldiers and Laborers who use their muscles for work than for show.

How many sets per day? What amount of time between each set?
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 11 сағат бұрын
usually around 5 sets a day. They can be close together or far apart as long as the sets are far enough apart to keep you from fatiguing. So anywhere between 15 minutes and 3 hours apart is fairly normal.

do I need to remove pull ups on my workout routine if im going to do this with pull ups?
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 11 сағат бұрын
Yes, just to keep the muscles fresh throughout the grease the groove training, usually 8-12 weeks. You won't see any loss in muscle mass though.
@z.zai1945
@z.zai1945 Сағат бұрын
what workout do you recommend for me to do if I remove pull ups? I use P-P-L-Rest-P-P-Rest and I only do bodyweight exercises so im a little confused on how should I adjust my workout sessions. I've only been working out for 1 and a half month so I dont really know much but I really appreciate you replying and answering my comment. Thanks!
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 39 минут бұрын
@@z.zai1945 You can replace the pull ups with body weight rows. There is a lot of crossover in the muscles worked, but the rows will hit more upper back and less lats. That should keep your lats fresh enough for greasing the groove. Good luck with your routine!

Lift heavy for short reps with high mecha tension for mecha strength. Move light for long/g.t.g reps with low mecha tension for neuromascular strength.

So powerlifters, sprinters, long runners, gymnasts and martial artists have have a high neuromascular adaptation while strongmen have mechanical strength adaptations.
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 11 сағат бұрын
Pretty much, a good example is the difference between a 230 pound bodybuilder who may only bench 300lbs and a 230lbs powerlifter who may bench 500lbs. Both have large, mechanically strong muscles, but the powerlifter also has better neuromuscular strength.
@user-ty2fi5rw4b
@user-ty2fi5rw4b 11 сағат бұрын
@@moversodyssey I'm begining to see the picture. So the powerlifter demands more from his neuromuscular system which in turn demands food to carry out the necessary adaptations?
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 10 сағат бұрын
@@user-ty2fi5rw4b Exactly, the powerlifter is telling his body that he needs more muscle fibers recruited, more neural output and better movement efficiency. All of which are adaptations of the nervous system. He still takes in lots of calories and the heavy lifting provides plenty of stimulus for the muscles themselves to grow, so he still gets some size gain as well.

When I was in my intermediate at starting I couldn't even do 100 continuously so, i have kept a challenge that i should do 100 continuously if i stop or stumble before completing 100 even if get stumble at 99 would start with 1 again. Later i started to challenged myself and seen a world record where for one min 280skippings have done, and I trained myself daily doing 2k-3k skippings atlast I could only achieve upto 250skippings per min. And later do not what's the reason i stopped skipping. But it gives super human reflexes, agility, coordination and can jump higher than most of the people around, endurance and run fast, run for long period....

This is not so different to what I picked up intuitively at 15 years old. At about 50kg, I could out-wrestle my older brother (provided he didn't fall on me), and could pack all my weights on one dumbbell and do 20 reps. I'm not sure how heavy it was, but people were always amazed by my size-strength ratio. Now I've built my body to a very muscular 75-76kg, but I have lost some of that unique strength, and I think it was from using poor form when I was younger, teaching my nerves bad habits. You're absolutely correct in that it is hard to unlearn bad form.
