This is cool. I've been experimenting using a table saw to "route" out flute grooves by doing a cove cut. It makes a parabola on each side, but seems to work. Just made a little flute/whistle out of some scrap redwood that was sitting under my shed for about a year. 🙂

Wado Charlie for my beautiful flute. I ordered and got the Googol flute with the bear Totem just recently, and they're both so beautiful! The flute aounds amazing, and the burnt pine smells absolutely divine. Many warm greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

In the chromatic scale while you play the F# flute, you play F#, G#, A, A#, ... Is there a way to play the full 12 note chromatic scale (which would include G natural or the second degree of the chromatic scale)?

searched for some inspiration and found it gladly.. yes it is super important to know who you are and to stay to it ... here in a place where playing native american flute is total unusual is it hard to fight against bias to convince ppl there is nothing bad with it to play it even if it means to be alone with playing these flutes which are healing for the soul .... if you have no self confidence it is easier said than done to have self awareness... your video gives alot of courage... especially if i have to play in front of a bigger group than usual and to play without shyness or nervosity ... thanks for the video... will take a look at your other ones and suscribe your channel...

Three weeks ago i had zero interest in native american flutes. Just made me think of relaxation cds and national geographic documentaries. Now i'm tuning my fourth flute! - watched a 100 vids; book ordered for xmas; carpet trodden with dust and splinters; laying awake thinking about sound holes and tracks. Now i'm worried my small stash of bamboo will run out over the holidays. Thank you, Charles. Amazing salesmanship!

@@BlueBearFlutes Great video but you have all the equipment! Would it impact the sound quality if 1/4" was just cut off?
@BlueBearFlutes19 күн бұрын
@skeeptwo7515 Keep in mind that my videos are meant to inspire others to make fluids and show what you can do. The equipment that I have is because this is what I do for a living. For example, a video you may not have seen was one I just made demonstrating how to make a flute out of a cardboard Christmas wrapping paper tube. Also, keeping in mind that the flute in the video repair that I posted in the comment here was what I did for a customer. I do offer that service still today. And finally, to answer your question, my friend, it depends on which end of the flute you need to cut off of. Do not cut anything off of the bottom end of the flute (furthest from the mouthpiece) as this will most definitely change the sound of it!

I really appreciate your videos! I am a beginner flute player, I have admired Native flute playing for decades, but was too intimidated to play it myself. All these years later, my granddaughter gifted me her flute from a college class when I admired it, and so now I'm looking at your videos and am learning to play, much to my amazement and enjoyment. This is so awesome, so completely magical for me, and I'm so glad to have your resources to listen to. So grateful!

I got mine from you on the 12th. I love it, but it takes me back to learning to play the recorder as a kid - I'm producing squeaky notes. 😅 Having played NAF for some time now didn't prepare me for that. But I'm sure I'll figure it out. Low notes are easy but the high notes make me feel kind of sorry for my neighbors. 😂

I am going tomorrow which will be December 11th, 2024 to play a cedar flute for a group of native people. I am a First Nation from Manitoba and really missed playing the flute. I hope someday I will be able to purchase one of your flutes. I wish you many great blessings in your journey. I also appreciate your video, take care….
