Looks and sounds amazing and love the grain. Maybe offer a special order option for different flutes in different woods.

Thank you for sharing, so interesting to know how you tune. I'll never make a flute but I love to understand.

Hey Charlie, I was hoping you could help me out or refer me to a video of yours which could help. I’ve made a jig to drill my 35mm poplar dowel I’ve purchased into (hopefully) a good NAF. But I’ve just been so confused on how to decide the length of the flute, length of the main chamber (I saw in one of your vids that the SAC and track length aren’t as important). I’m drilling a 1 inch hole for the main chamber and then probably a small sac hole about 10mm diameter like on my high spirits flute. How do I choose the different chamber lengths and how do they impact the tone, volume, key, etc? Or does it not matter? I’m just very confused on how to decide these measurements.

@out_of_the_BOX a very good question. Something I will tell you with regards to drilling a flute out is that you will need to concentrate on drilling it and most importantly what your emotional reaction is going to be when you accidentally destroy it! As funny as this may sound, it is absolutely true exclamation point if you haven't yet, please check out some of the videos that have screen captures of my book schematics in them as my book will reference the size of the sound chamber. Likewise, most flute makers drill the flute most if not all of the way through and then put a plug inside of it to separate the two chambers. Even the cheap Chinese company in Guangdong who makes one of the most famous Native American's flutes that he sells in the United States as "Native American made" put a plug inside of the flutes although they are made in two halves! 😁
