honestly your commentary on how tedious the old zelda formula can be was a breath of fresh air. i'm not a new gen player (my first game was OoT), but i feel so out of place in the community sometimes because i adore how BoTW/ToTK shook things up. don't get me wrong, i LOVE the older zelda games and their formulas, but let's not lie to ourselves... it is a lot of the same old boring puzzles and fight mechanics, which make the games super predictable. i think it was about time the devs switched things up, and i hope in the future, they flip-flop between the old and new formulas.

I spent so many hours on this game. Definitely got my money's worth $35 back then. Made my own maps. After bombing every possible rock and burning every bush. Every dungeon also mapped out. After having my complete self made guide.i moved on to my Next challenge, I then beat both games without dying. At that time I never thought about speed runs. But I would have been good at it.

Hearing you say you never beat TotK before now makes me think i can maybe do it. I've been getting bored with my main save and recently decided to make a separate one for more of a challenge. This, being that challenge. I'm at 4 hearts, got 4 extra weapon slots, raided Hyrule Castle and the only armor ive got on is Archaic. All i feel is left to do is jump down there and do it. Thanks for the inspiration. Lol

This is a game of exploration, trial and error. THAT is the point of the game. Problem solve and figure out what it wants from a few strategic clues.

Something that infuriates me about his attempts at finding phantom Gannon and demon king ganondorf (totk) the fact he says he “doesn’t know the timing to the flurry rush” when in reality he’s back flipping instead of side hopping on the vertical slash 😭

Jesus christ nes games did not cost $50, although it’s probably todays equivalent.. the video game industry has been very fair as far as prices rising over time.

How the hell does anyone find these glitches? "Hey guys, I found out that if you drop a bomb, do a backflip, stab with your sword twice, rotate 90 degrees, change your boots and grab a chicken as it runs past, it launches you across the map to get the Spirit medallion before beating the Great Deku Tree!"

33:20 just a guess but I think the Zoros have the same origin as the soot sprites in Spirited Away. They spawn from a bomb explosion and generally look like living coals. I'm guessing ash spirits are popular in Japanese folklore. Only other thing I can say about them is that I will 100% forget about them between playthroughs and get cheap-shotted every time I get to that dungeon.

That's so interesting but wow 😮 Glad you can do that with helpful videos online. Also, I didn't know you could break bombable walls with blue fire. I never tried that before to know about it I feel. I wonder if most of the glitches were not in the 3DS version though since I never had and played the original. I loved my over 300 record top game and system and show off hours in my childhood. 😊

There are Cheese Moves for a few of Ocarinas Bosses. Ghoma can be shot in the eye just before it lays its eggs... cutting out a bit of that fight. If you use the hylian Shield against King Dodongo - he'll roll right over you without damaging you. Volvagia can be shot with arrows whilst its flying around. For Dark Link - he reads your moves more accurately when you are on the water - on the land at the edge of the arena by the exit to that room you'll hit more often - you can also spam din's fire to beat him easily, and if you've picked up biggoron's sword you'll do more damage to him. Bongo Bongo is more easily tackled wearing the hover boots as you don't bounce so much.. With Ganondorf - when he charges his multi-shot attack - you can charge a spin attack to reflect them all back at him or just shoot him with a light arrow while he's chargin the attack - its also slightly faster to use the longshot to get over to him after he falls to the floor - and you can spam quick spin attacks in fast succession to stop him recovering... as for Ganon - you can roll between his legs - which is quicker than strafing around him.

When I step away from the game for too long, as in years, I somehow convince myself it's awful and hard. But every time I play it I either beat it I make it to Level 9 and just stop, it's the most fun and challenging NES game I have ever played. And I have 200 games on that console.

For once I'd like to click on one of these videos and see the answer (in a video lasting less than a minute) is No, obviously not - unless you use glitches, of course, but that would be cheating...
