The Forestry Commission and National Resources have done this to themselves, they stopped doing anything with the main trails at C-Y-B and N-Y-A, instead, they stuck two fingers up to the MTBer and pumped all the money generated from the people that went to ride the trails and directed it into the kiddy trails, the visitor centre. So, what happened? The MTBers stopped going. You could hardly get a parking space even in the overflow! Now you can turn up and park right next to the visitor centre. Where's the GO APE? Idiots! Also, Gen Z / Millennials don't want to ride up hill or proper trails so go to BPW and the other bike parks. If they'd actually put the money generated from the MTBer back into 'their' trails, the place would still be rammed and generating the next bikers to use the trails, absolute numpties!

Hey man I've recently just got into watching your content I really enjoy these kinda uploads, I'm considering buying a voodoo bizzango pro and I heard you have one I'd like to ask which size frame did you get because they all look pretty similar and one last question what'd your height in foot?
@bikeandbeyond17 күн бұрын
I’m glad you like the content, thanks for watching. Mine is their size large frame and I am 5”10. I find that this fits me perfectly. Being 5”10 I sit right between the M and L sizes, but found that the M was a bit too compact for me. I find that the size large is a good fit for what I use it for and the bike has been great. I’ve had it a couple of years now and it’s not had any issues.

Hi, I don’t know if I should get the black and orange bizango at £600 Halfords sale or the bizango pro at £950. The cheaper option will allow me to add new grips, pedals,convert to tubeless, and a dropper post. I’m just unsure if the pro specs are worth the extra £350. Can you advise what the best option would be. Cheers
@bikeandbeyond20 күн бұрын
@@smcc2126 Hi, it totally depends on what you are going to be using it for. I haven’t ever ridden the normal bizango so can’t make a direct comparison to the pro, but for me the pro was a no brainier. I knew that I wanted to use it on harder trails and needed something reliable. It hasn’t let me down yet and I haven’t had to replace any parts or anything. For what it’s worth I hear that the normal Bizango is just as hard wearing, so I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I had the old orange bizango and took it on all kinds of different trails and drops It did really well. The new bizango is an improvement on that so it’s definitely a capable bike. I definitely recommend a dropper as one of the first things you buy. If there are a few upgrades that you want to make, perhaps go for the standard model and slowly upgrade. If you aren’t going to do much to it, get the pro.
@smcc212620 күн бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Think I’m going to go with the pro and get a dropper post. Pedals etc can wait until next months paycheck 😂

Beautiful story. I just injured my achilles tendon and cannot ride more than 30-45 minutes clipped in. Thankfully I have more than one bike and most of my stable still has flats. I pedal with a mid-foot position and can do so for many hours without feeling any pain on flats so I just switched to flats. Problem solved. The efficiency gain with clipless, even on a road bike is minuscule and I honestly feel stronger and like I am trying less hard when pedaling at submaximal power on flats due to the foot forward position. I also feel more gluteus recruitment pedaling that way. I am sure the professionals with their ball of foot clipless style have an advantage but its so minuscule that I honestly cannot tell a difference unless I am sprinting. And even then they say clipping in gives best benefit when pedaling out of the saddle. Well I hate being out of the saddle so much that I never do it! Plus you can hike, walk and just explore or go to a restaurant or visit places while you ride walking around on flat pedal shoes like you're wearing a normal pair, something that even with the SPD mountain bike cleat/models you can't do that well. I thought you could but it puts a lot of wear on the shoes. Still have my original Adidas 5/10's from years ago they've taken a beating and while scoffed and dirty the rubber is in great shape and will last many more years. If you're not a professional or racing for pink slips I honestly don't see a point
@patty10910922 күн бұрын
Interesting post. I ride clipped on a road bike, but i have spent a long time trying to deal with foot discomfort. However on my mountain bike with flats I have ZERO foot pain regardless of distance. I’m absolutely going to remember this and if my feet become bothersome again just switch over to flats on my road bike-at least if I’m not trying to PR a segment or something in Strava/zwift.
@mikecoglione130812 күн бұрын
@@patty109109 Unless you're racing or going hard, hard, hard I don't see the point of clipping in. More stuff to go wrong and more potential for injury. I think what makes flats objectively BETTER is that there is no one foot position so if you get tired or it doesn't feel good you can switch. This is generally the way you avoid injury like when carrying a heavy load over distance or doing a repetitive task. As your muscles and structures tire, you can change what you do ever so slightly and it takes the pressure off the overused part. They say you need a super accurate bike fitment to get that super perfect clipped in position, but what if you feel there generally isn't a perfect position and you prefer your foot all over the place and changing that position because its more intuitive and natural to do so? For most non racing riders flats make far better sense. I have done centuries with 12k climb with flats, 160 miles in one day, went up mountains and everything. I just don't race.

I'm going in a couple of weeks. Was just wondering if it's worth booking the uplift service? Did you do that? How long does it take to push back up again?
@bikeandbeyond23 күн бұрын
The uplift is worth it if you are doing multiple laps of the downhill trails. The push up is doable on an ebike in about 10+ minutes, but it’s still steep. You can do it on a manual bike in around 20mins but multiple laps becomes a bit of a slog.
