One thing that helped me with lust is imagining the thoughts as clouds passing by. Unfortunately we can’t control everything that pops into our heads while we are in the process of overcoming lust, but we CAN control how long we think about it and how far it goes. I’d have an inappropriate thought, and instead of beating myself up over it, I just let the thought pass by and not go any further as I watch it drift away. After that I’d ask Jesus for help to overcome those thoughts and to help me cast them away. I am not perfect but I am much better than where I was

I struggled with this the majority of my life and I got into a relationship that was hyper sexual about 2 years ago. It’s over now but during those off and on 2 years I felt the Holy Spirit tug on my heart and messages after messages from church about leaving unequally yolked relationships and how sex wasn’t supposed to be like a “fun time”between anybody you thought was attractive but a soul tie that was sacred in a marriage. I was devastated by the news bc the world was telling me I was making a mistake leaving my ex but God wouldn’t allow me to feel content in it if I wanted His heart. My ex and I had a conversation just a day before this was posted and he texted me he missed me... It was hard to stay away sometimes but the different between then and now is I fully want to be with God. No amount of drinking, partying, solely self care, and new guys from dating apps made me feel whole. It made me feel worse actually. Now, I don’t think i’ve felt this free, at peace, and determined to stay consistent in Christ in a _while_ All glory to God!! He saved me!!! 🙌🏽🙏🏽🤍✝️ I made a song about it on my channel called “Psalm 105:4” and I pray everyone who reads this stays consistent and focused on Jesus too! 🙏🏽🫂

I forget who said it, but I heard that "fighting" lust is not the way to go. 99% of battles with lust will result in failure and sin. The best way to get rid of sexualization in our brain is to run from it. Guard our hearts, eyes, and brain. The further we get from these sins, the least likely we are to commit them. Don't even let the word come to your mind. "I'm gonna read my Bible and praise Jesus today" is a lot better than saying "I'm not gonna masturbate and fall into lust" because you're planting seeds in your mind. Good video Demani. Amen

I would argue the goal should not be to desexualize your brain, and instead should be how to depornify your brain. Sex is a scared act where humans take part in reproduction (creating) with the help of God, there is nothing wrong with sexuality it is wrong however to pervert this gift falling into lust.
