I’ve found that the secret to overcoming lust is to understand what lust truly is. It is a desire in a man’s (or woman) heart, that will not go away unless the man believes that it can go away (which it can through Jesus). I think the other key is understanding the immense beauty that is man and woman made in the image of God (which God called very good). Let us not consume that image in a perverted way, but let us acknowledge that it is very good. Let us in no way, take what God said is very good and call it a temptation. “….each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his OWN lust…” (James 1:14) Gods creation in the form of a woman (or man) made in the image of God is not an image of temptation, nor should it be seen as such by people who profess the name of Christ. There is TRUE freedom to be found from sin. Through Christ, we are no longer slaves to sin. This is a truth that we MUST believe. Amen!

I forget who said it, but I heard that "fighting" lust is not the way to go. 99% of battles with lust will result in failure and sin. The best way to get rid of sexualization in our brain is to run from it. Guard our hearts, eyes, and brain. The further we get from these sins, the least likely we are to commit them. Don't even let the word come to your mind. "I'm gonna read my Bible and praise Jesus today" is a lot better than saying "I'm not gonna masturbate and fall into lust" because you're planting seeds in your mind. Good video Demani. Amen

Yes, first and foremost the Bible says that. Like in 1 Corinthians 6:18 it says to flee sexual immorality. I’ve heard it preached before too that sexual immorality/lust is such a powerful enemy that even God Himself tells us to RUN from it instead of sticking around to fight it. Think about how Joseph ran from Potiphar’s wife. Like when it comes to the devil, God will say things like “resist the devil and he will flee from you” but if it comes to us in a battle with sex/ lust He is like ‘just leave!’. It’s almost funny if it weren’t alarming to see how weak we truly are. But at least where we are weak, He is strong 💛🙏

Makes sense why falling into it was so inevitable. I literally would keep streaks of how long I would hold off from the sin. That set me up for failure. That sin has been with me for five years… and it started to feel normal. I’ve never told anyone accept my parents at the very beginning and I didn’t even give them the full story. One thing that helped me with lust is imagining the thoughts as clouds passing by. Unfortunately we can’t control everything that pops into our heads while we are in the process of overcoming lust, but we CAN control how long we think about it and how far it goes. I’d have an inappropriate thought, and instead of beating myself up over it, I just let the thought pass by and not go any further as I watch it drift away. After that I’d ask Jesus for help to overcome those thoughts and to help me cast them away. I am not perfect but I am much better than where I was

Didn't know I wasn't the only one going through this and it pains me. Being exposed to evil things at a young age really messes your growing mind and I thought it was normal but I felt so ashamed and disgusted everyday, I couldn't look into the eyes of people normally. It was horrible. Ruined my behaviour, physical health, confidence and mental health, but I thought it was okay because I felt a bit 'good', yeah, only for a few seconds or whatever. Didn't help that my parents also endulged in it sometimes and they didn't monitor what I was doing in general. Fell into depression, but I was saved. Sucks you all went through it too but be rest assured that God was watching over in those moments, when Satan was relishing in your suffering and he's watching you now, and always. He will redeem those lost years to pain, regret and loss and bring years with abundance and prosperity, not of the world's standards, but you will be able to say you've grown and that you are safe in God. If you still feel tempted ask him to enter your life, give your desires, pain, worries, struggles and everything to him and you will be given peace. Remember you're not alone in your pains and Jesus Christ is forever with you, humbly confess to him all you have ans he will save you. Be in love and faith, friends. God bless you all. ❤️

I think it’s so important that you brought up adult and kids shows being sexualized because I think people underestimate how rampant it is. Two amazing things i took away from this was: 1. Boundaries - After you spoke about not taking your phone jnto the bathroom with you, the word boundaries hit me hard. I was at church. The lady next to me says, 'the spirit told her to ask me what I needed prayer for'. I hesitated, spoke to God, and asked if I could confide in her. I believe that it wasn't about confiding in her, but it was time that I had called out the thing that I was struggling with. Lust. I told her and she prayed right there is service. I gave in to temptation afterward... but confession was what I needed. We have to call it by it's name. Confess it. Our freedom awaits. No need to hide or be embarrassed. We are not the only ones experiencing this. I thank God for deliverance. And the strategies of fleeing temptation. Repentance is NOT saying "sorry." That is only part of repentance but that isn't the whole thing. When you come to repent you MUST truly reflect on your actions and think about what did you feel when you were tempted? Was your heart beating faster then normal? What kind of thoughts did you have during temptation? What did you do when you were tempted? Did you try to reason with those thoughts? Did you choose to run to God and flee from sexual/immoral sin? Or did you choose you to give you heart to the devil? You see a lot of "Christians" only say sorry but they don't mean it. I used to do the same thing until I realized that part of having faith in Christ is by following his example and to truly repent I must CHNAGE MY BEHAVIOR!! learn = change of behavior not processing info. You see I recommend that you read "Purity is Power", Atomic Habits, and the Bible. To overcome sexual perversion, sexual sin, lust, and even adultery... You must #1 FLEE FROM LUST, FLEE/RUN AWAY FROM TEMPATION DON'T REASON WITH IT. did Jesus reason with the devil? HECK NO, Jesus didn't dwell on it he used scripture. But I highly advise that you not only flee from lust, but you also CUT OFF anyway or any means that can lead you to sin... What leads you to sin? What gets you access to P? Phone? Tablet? Mac? Computer? When you are tempted, run away from it, cut off all sources that lead to sin, and RUN TO GOD, and pray to him speak to him about what your feeling. That's how you will beat it. You must give your heart to God instead of Satan which is something that Purty of power speaks of. You must also adopt a change of lifestyle and keep yourself busy throughout the day by working on your goals. That can be business, job, hobbies, reading, socializing, but I do say don't stay too much on screens.

That sin has been with me for five years… and it started to feel normal. I’ve never told anyone accept my parents at the very beginning and I didn’t even give them the full story. When we go through this stuff, so many times it feels like God is ashamed of us, like he's gone away or given up, but he cares and can't stop, because nothing can separate us from his love, not even our sin, and when you talked about how we can be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, it just reminded me how the power of the Gospel is unstoppable, and we can run to it any time, because "if we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father" (1 John 2:1). I have been taking social media breaks, going on for maybe 15 min or so every few days or more instead of daily and doom scrolling, which tends to lead down a bad rabbit hole. Regardless of how much you block it seems to be filled with a never ending supply of perverse videos of people. I put porn blockers on my phone just so that I’m not going down those rabbit holes. I try to rebuke lustful thoughts and listen to mostly Christian music. I struggle with the idea that masturbating is wrong, as I have been single my whole life, and I do feel it helps relieve stress, is like massage, self care, an acknowledgment of being a sexual being, and helps with being abstinent. I do think it can be done without lusting, I believe that’s the main problem is if you are doing it to someone in particular. It’s hard being a sexual being, and yet I feel like I can’t acknowledge that. Religious people, growing up in a Christian household, Christian church and school, sex wasn’t talked about openly, and if anything in many contexts was shamed. It led to sexual suppression and shame, never dating when I was younger because I didn’t want to be made fun of or have attention on me. It took a long time for me to have a good relationship with sex and embracing being a sexual being in a healthy way. I have recently tried to stop masturbation, but again it feels like my experiences are being disregarded and I’m just some robot. Is it not weird to basically act like it’s not a thing and then all of a sudden be married and now everything is normal?

Bro do this #1 when you are tempted run away from Lust. #2 CUT OFF ANYWAY THAT LEADS YOU TO SIN. What sources lead you to sin, how do you access P? Phone? Tablet? Computer? #3 when tempted DON'T DWELL on it don't just sit and contemplate. #4 Run to God, pray to God, and tell him everything your feeling, and pray and give your HEART to God. Tell him "Lord I give you everything that doesn't come from you. Please free me from this passion of lust I feel in my heart, liberate my mind from all the kinds of images and videos I used to watch." #5 if you fall into temptation don't just go to God and say "I'm sorry." Sorry ain't gonna cut it man, you MUST REFLECT on what led you to make that decision. Jesus spoke about prayer and meditating on prayer. You must think about what you feel when your tempted, what your thoughts are when your tempted, and what is it that you do when your tempted? Do you contemplate on those thoughts? #6 read Purity is Power, atomic Habits, and the Bible. AND APPLY WHAT IT TEACHES. I will say that in summary of Purity is Power, it speaks about "giving your heart to God" when your tempted. Because if you give your heart to Satan when you are tempted then at that point you would be serving Satan rather than Christ. You would be choosing to hug sin instead of letting it go and running away from it. YOU CANNOT WIN, ONLY GOD CAN THAT'S WHY YOU RUN. IT IS Written TO FLEE FROM Youthful LUST AND PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS
