Yes the retail versions of Office also known as Full Package Product have mobility rights. You actually activate the product against your email address and then you install on a system. You can un-install and re-install on another system. The Family versions of Office 365 allow up to 6 family members to install Office. All tracked on the Microsoft Account website.

Up through Surface Pro 9 series all support the Win 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2019 and 2021 editions. The newest Surface Pro 10 only supports build 22H2 of Windows 10 and Windows 11 of course. But it does not support build 21H2 which is the IoT LTSC 2021 product. We have customers that use the Surface Pro family with their appliances.

@@user-zr7kz4vs7c Surface Go 4 only supports Win 10 build 22H2 and Win 11. The LTSC 2021 is based on build 21H2. Doesn't mean that it won't work but it isn't supported. I would bet that it would work just fine with everything but you would simply have to test it out.

The IoT version is only available to OEMs that build appliances. You have to sign a CLA agreement which has no cost and no min purchase. Once signed and approved, I can provide information on how to gain access to the Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC 2024 preview. When 11 LTSC launches later this year, they will also launch an evaluation edition that you can test out without needing the CLA agreement. But I would say sign a CLA. This number is around 30 in 8.1 embedded industry Pro and around 110 in Win 10 iot ltsc. I'm curious about Win 11.

@@serkut2026 I did a clean install of Win 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and it only shows 79 processes running. I did a clean install of the latest Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC 2024 Preview and it has 93 processes. I feel as though some of these numbers would vary depending on the hardware provider. This test system was an Asus gaming rig that I built. I want to test this out on another system to see how much they vary. Plus I want to test out 8.1 Pro and 10 Pro as well as 11 Pro just to see. Would be a good chart to have and share with customers.

You're right it is an amazing tool that was created to be similar to the WES7 and WES8 ICE toolkit back in the day. It was created just for Win 10 IoT Ent LTSC 2021 which means at this time it does not support the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise product. But an updated version is in the works. It is designed to create a custom gold image for a specific device/system which means you would install everything on the Target system to then customize and get it all configured the way you want for a gold image then capture that image. You then of course can deploy that image on hundreds of systems. It isn't really designed to be used just to capture different target systems if the goal is to just capture the image.

@@WindowsChamp HM, okay... then it's not for my work, I create images for systems in lab machines, I use WinADK+PE and alot of DISM and sysprep to create those images. I thought this was a lil helpful tool for my work. but that... no. thats sad.

The LTSC editions have almost nothing installed but the Edge Browser. You can very easily go to add/remove programs and remove Edge. It does however come included with LTSC. Well technically the LTSC 2019 includes Internet Explorer. LTSC 2021 includes Edge.

Yes, the Windows IoT licensing does allow booting to the desktop but most OEM's boot into Shell Launcher and run their own shell. But again, it is allowed and certainly possible. It is regular Windows Enterprise so yes it by default would boot to the desktop.

Well in most cases it is not legit and the way they get around it is due to the fact that sometimes on rare occasion a person that purchased a retail product could want to resell their license key but the thing to know is keys are not licenses. The problem with that is the people buying these keys don't care about that the key isn't the license. In their minds if it activates then that is worth the $10 however the key and activation are not licenses. So people who truly want to be legit, would and should avoid those websites and actually buy a real license.

Yes Windows IoT Enterprise LTSC receives security updates so the IoT devices stay secure. As for regular Windows 10, yeah it still receives updates or well build 22H2 still receives updates until Oct 2025 and then they turn them off for good.

By default, if the machine does not have internet, Windows 10 IoT Ent LTSC 2019 does NOT attempt to activate and instead runs in deferred activation mode. Activation is not a requirement for IoT operating systems and it is not required to have a legal license. The license is the COA sticker and the key along with the activation are just piracy deterrents. But IoT products do not require activation and are designed for OEM's that build offline appliances with no internet such as the military and other industries. If your LTSC 2019 image is attempting to activate, that means the O/S has previously been activated or your gold image was activated which for an offline device you must keep everything offline. KMS Server and a KMS key are not available in the OEM IoT channel and not required as you get a single MAK key good for 50K activations. KMS requires a Volume license agreement with a minimum 25 clients. Again not needed as IoT doesn't require activation and will not attempt to activate unless it can see the internet. This is exactly why OEMs use Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC because it only receives security patches and never receives any new updates that could break the device. I haven't seen any news on anything breaking Windows 10 and Windows 10 is on the last build 22H2 so you would need to be more specific. Which update is causing the issues? Let me know. Always a good discussion point.

Yes just disable your network adapter and it will not attempt to reach the internet.

In many cases it will confirm if the key is good or not however only MAK or Multiple Activation Keys will generally display the number of activations remaining.

Microsoft did recently remove the ability for a 7 and 8 key to activate a 10 license so that will no longer work at this time. But this video is for Win 10 IoT Enterprise which has its own key.

I've never used the VMAT tool for clients to activate against it. I only use it to check the number of activations a key has used or has remaining. I'm afraid the IoT products are strictly for OEM's that manufacture appliances. You could certainly look at getting a Visual Studio/MSDN subscription and gain access to the LTSC non IoT products. Although not supported, you can force an in-place upgrade from 1607 LTSB 2016 to 21H2 LTSC 2021. Always best to create a fresh clean install but again it is possible to force an in-place upgrade.

I would suggest connecting a different monitor and or possibly using remote access to remote into the system which will reset the resolution for the remote user.

Right now Microsoft's official answer is 2nd half of 2024. You cannot ship a production system using the preview or pre-release editions. Basically like asking for you to ship with only Windows 12 when Windows 12 doesn't have an official launch date. Best thing to do is start testing with the pre-release Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC edition so that you are ready to go as soon as the launch date is made available.

I can only speak to the indirect OEM IoT channel. If you happen to have a direct OEM IoT agreement with Microsoft, the answers might be different. A Direct OEM might get the Win 11 LTSC product sooner but for the indirect OEM IoT channel, we do not have an official launch date that is public yet. Once you get the official OPK media kit for the launch edition, you can begin loading and installing on production units.

Check out a few other videos on my channel. I have a video where I compare 10 Ent IoT LTSC vs 10 Ent LTSC. I also have a video called the Key is not the license. It is very important to know that the IoT products do not offer digital licenses. The license is a physical COA sticker and IoT can only be purchased from IoT distributors with Arrow Electronics being the #1 IoT Distributor. Sites that sell keys are technically not legal. The key is not the license. Yes there are some retail versions of 11 Home and 11 Pro that are digital downloads. But just having a key and activating the key does not mean you have a license. Tons of piracy and counterfeiting out in the channel these days. Best to always buy from a legit source like Arrow Electronics.

Yeah pretty similar, with commercial apps removed such as Xbox, news, Weather, etc.... Simple, clean, Reliable, and Secure.

It would be challenging because the Windows O/S for Arm doesn't install like regular Windows. You have to obtain the BSP image from the hardware manufacture and I doubt the Fairphone 5 would be offering a BSP to run Windows for Arm on it.
