When will Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC be Launched?

Microsoft provides a public announcement for the release date of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC via a blog published on April 27th, 2023. In this video, I discuss their announcement and provide information on testing in preparation for this new LTSC release.

We are starting to move from Shopify to Lightspeed but using PC, not iPad. We are planning to use Windows 11 IOT for easy to implement in our system. How can I start "playing" with windows 11? I want to test our devices, etc. Thank you, btw, excellent channel.

The IoT version is only available to OEMs that build appliances. You have to sign a CLA agreement which has no cost and no min purchase. Once signed and approved, I can provide information on how to gain access to the Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC 2024 preview. When 11 LTSC launches later this year, they will also launch an evaluation edition that you can test out without needing the CLA agreement. But I would say sign a CLA. Hi, Ken Champ! Thanks for everything relating IOT LTSC. I have one question. I am POS systems manufacturer. I have client with a demand for delivery till end of April. Client demands me delivering my system with window 11 IOT LTSC. Will there be any way to deliver the systems, as Microsoft did not gives us launch date? Beside this, is there any ligal way we prepare our IOT Images befor the official date and, so we can preload it on the POS system while manufacuring and providing license sticker and activation keys once available. We have long assembly and delivery process. I want to optimize the process so we dont need to unpack all systems and reinstall them after dispatched from our ODM factory. Will appreciate if you have any idea on this topic.

Right now Microsoft's official answer is 2nd half of 2024. You cannot ship a production system using the preview or pre-release editions. Basically like asking for you to ship with only Windows 12 when Windows 12 doesn't have an official launch date. Best thing to do is start testing with the pre-release Win 11 IoT Ent LTSC edition so that you are ready to go as soon as the launch date is made available.

This means we will not be able to load windows 11 iot image during production in our factory in China and we will be able to load the image once official release is published and we get the EPKEA license. If we install the gold version, would it be possible to update to the official release, or will we need to install a new image from scratch?

I can only speak to the indirect OEM IoT channel. If you happen to have a direct OEM IoT agreement with Microsoft, the answers might be different. A Direct OEM might get the Win 11 LTSC product sooner but for the indirect OEM IoT channel, we do not have an official launch date that is public yet. Once you get the official OPK media kit for the launch edition, you can begin loading and installing on production units.
