Hi scrag. Quick question for you... im going to be running an aqua forte mini air source but dont want to heat to the min set of 15°. Did you manage to reduce the min temp setting down in the end?

@Gazza09999 hi mate mine is the Thermotec Mini which can go lower, I'm not sure if the Aqua Forte ones can be reduced or not sorry.

That filter looks like a serious bit of kit mate, great purchase… 👏🏼 I have exactly the same issue just now Craig. My 2 largest koi have picked up injury’s from enthusiastic feeding and hitting the edges of the polycarb covers. Having to keep the heat up until they fully heal. So will need to find a solution myself mate. Your plans look great… 👍🏼

Looks a nice unit Craig interesting to see it fitted on the pond ,was there a problem with the nexus or just getting better filtration I’m upgrading my pond this summer from a 1200 gallon to a 3000 with a window similar to yours but I’m still in a dilemma over a drum combo or a nexus 320 a bit of advice would be appreciated 👍

@chriswilliams455 Hi mate the Nexus 320 has been outstanding however I'm having to clean it every 2days which is getting too much for me as I have a lot going on, with the new Red Label filter this will hopefully free some time up for me. I went big on the filter but I could have gone with the next size down but you can never be over filtered. My advice is for you to go what you can afford but when building build it so that if you want to upgrade later your already prepared e.g make sure you have shutoff valves so that you can isolate your pond without having to drain it down. Do a lot of research and ask a lot of questions. Give Lee a call from @westmidlandskoi he will gladly run through some options with you. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🙏

@jiggsmountainviewkoipond thanks mate things can go wrong very quickly, my mate has done many trips up there, Snowdon and Kilimanjaro but no matter how many climbs you have done every trip can be different especially with the changing weather conditions 👍

Be careful keeping the grow on at 12 degrees shag, 12 degrees is the start of what they call aeromonas alley I think they call it. Probably be better either keeping it at 18 or dropping it to between 8 and 10. Looking forward to next season 👍🏼👌🏼
