Historically, not much of a museum. More of a Disneyesque entertainment than an honest recount about the genius film maker. I found the museum to be over-the-top. Over produced and pandering to the shallow visitor. Chaplin’s old house with a compelling tour guide would have been all I needed.

When will he take questions again? 1. What was Gloria Swanson like in real life? 2. Why did Chaplin and Mary Pickford stop talking to each other? I had read that they had not spoken or seen each other for eleven years due to vehement "creative differences". 3. What is the truth about the death of Rudy Valentino? It is alleged that he was poisoned by Joseph Schenck. Is that true? If anyone would know the truth about that incident and so many others - it would most assuredly be Chaplin.

Thank you for the tour. It’s June 15th 2024. My mother passed in 2018, she was born in 1933 and she loved reading biographies. I was going through her things that I packed away and found the book written by Charlie Jr. Fascinating. I followed up by reading everything I could about your grandfather. His autobiography, Lita Grey’s book, Charlie Chaplin vs America, Trio (which you know is more about your mother) and anything that I could find about him. My mother’s brother was born in the 20’s, and was also a big fan. Remember seeing pictures and things that he used to mimic of the little Tramp. Loved the tour and hope to go myself in the near future. Your comment on Charlie being a complicated man was a kind way to speak about him. Times were so different back then I know, I have a hard time criticizing his behavior, he was a true genius. What is common with geniuses is typically altered social behavior. Yes, he had his faults and he did do things that could be considered unconscionable, but the impact he made on the silver screen changed theatre forever. Could you override that and just label him something nasty? I think not. As a woman, who had my own experiences of men behaving badly, I still can’t think of Charlie Chaplin as anything but a once in a lifetime historical enigma. His history growing up and his relationship with his mother I’m sure solidified a love hate relationship. 100 years later I’m watching his silent films and I’m mesmerized by the drama and feelings they emote. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your content. Thank you again for the tour and a chance to enjoy your father’s memories of life in Vevy.

Hi Spencer Chaplin just out of interest if you don’t mind whose side are you on in this war of Isreal and Palestine? I would say that Charlie Chaplin wouldn’t want a war and would rather be on Palestine’s side instead. Also he wanted people to treat everyone equally and hated the idea of this genocide.

here we are two years after you Spencer had this great conversation with Paul Merton, obviously a huge fan of your grandfather. I am a HUGE FAN as well, so far bought his autobiography and the book about Oona, your grandmother as I was hoping to find out more about their relationship. Anyways both books are really great reads and listening to Paul Merton was super enjoyable. Thanks for having him on your show which I really enjoy by the way. I think both your grandparents were such graceful people in many ways. I`m looking forward to go to the Greatest Museum in september this year. If my knee heals completely. Long long travel from Victoria, Canada. Love you all. and thanks again.
