Nicely done! By the way, gimbaling the burner assembly only provides protection to the envelope during inflation, as it allows you to direct the flame away from the envelope. I do hope the devs eventually introduce side vent panels so we can rotate the balloon, as in the real world. I was lucky to have been able to take three flight lesson hours through Balloon Ranch in Colorado, back in the late 1970s. Also ground crewed for several pilots in the 80s, and early 90s. Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed it. Nice music selection, by the way. :)
@MSFSFlightPlans10 сағат бұрын
Ahhhh ... side vents! That is brilliant. Yeah, considering how much planning it takes just to make sure you can face a direction allowing to operate it in the sim, you'd think they would have added that.

Gday mate nice tour of my hometown Melbourne. The yellow thing is known locally as the cheese stick and it’s just a piece of art built back in 2000 when the hole free way was upgraded that is the way out to Melbourne international airport witch at the start you did point out Essendon airport which is older than the international airport and wasn’t originally out of international Airport before Melbourne was built back in the 70s And you mentioned trams flinders street just a little correction it’s trains that run along that viaduct but we do have trams in the city. They run on the streets. Not to be to nitpicking nonetheless a really nice flight and job form someone who doesn’t actually live hear good work
@MSFSFlightPlans23 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the local history and the awesome revelation for the "cheese stick"! I always assume I'm going to get a few things wrong on these flights, but sincerely appreciate getting the straight story from folks who live there. I've always wondered what it would be like to hear what someone who's never been to my town would say. It's kind of like the telephone game ... by the time the information makes it to the internet it's already been slightly corrupted, then one would presumably make a lot of assumptions about what can be seen from the air while you're flying over. I just hope no one is using my material for their geography exams!

Has anybody figured out how to trim the anti-torque pedals? I can trim the cyclic, but not the pedals.
@MSFSFlightPlansКүн бұрын
I've got my trims linked up to pitch with rotor longitudinal and roll with rotor lateral, between those I have been able to get most of the helis stable. I think the pedals are themselves, functionally, the yaw trim.

In 2024 you can spawn anywhere on the ground if you want to (cold and dark or engine running). There’s a dropdown for it. Cool video, I love the gyrocopter 😊. What is the yellow chopper?
@MSFSFlightPlans3 күн бұрын
Oh ... awesome! That's good to know. Where is the dropdown? The chopper is the Bell 47 J. It was one of the local ledgends or famous fliers in 2020. Even if I can spawn on the ground, I'm not sure if you tried enough helipads or not in 2024, but half of them start me sitting in a tree or so jammed into them that I immediately crash. It would probably be great for a big field or shoreline though.
@hobiegal3 күн бұрын
@ I’m trying to load my sim now but it’s acting stupid, like it does after every update (haven’t flown fie about a week since I’ve been obsessing over the Indiana Jones game). If I remember correctly, the dropdown is below the departure location at left. When you select the point you want to depart from, it should bring up that field and the dropdown is there. If I can get into the sim I’ll double check and see if I can be more clear.

@MSFSFlightPlans5 күн бұрын
Yeah, I know what you're referring to with the DLSS. It's not that in the Bonanza and SR22. The entire screen fogs up, I've never seen anything like it, and I can't imagine what's causing it. It literally looks like smoke in the cockpit ... which would be a cool effect if it was caused by simulated failures. 🤔

Nice to follow along again, Nick. Lot's of interesting and old history in that region. I haven't been there in person myself. But my sister was there as a tourist some years ago. And someone was ready to offer her husband 40 camels, if she would stay behind. 😅 Sharm el-Sheikh is (was a least) a very popular sight for diving in the tropical waters. During the Christmas holiday I suddenly was feeling feverrish, and came to a point I got so ill with an infection and got hospitalized. Two weeks later I'm still in hospital. Things are pointing in the right direction, but it's taking it's toll. And came totally out of the blue. I was hoping to finish my new pc and install MSFS 2024, but never came that far... 🙄

@@MSFSFlightPlans those were the years after the six day war of 1967 where Israel conquered the Sinai. in 1978 (I wrote 1972 by mistake) after the peace accord was signed, Israel began withdrawing from Sinai, completing the withdrawal in 1982. There's a third-party steam gauge TBM, the TBM 850, by Black Square. I don't have it myself, but I can tell you that it's very highly spoken of.
@davidwitherow9006 күн бұрын
But if a steam gauge TBM does interest you, you might want to wait for Black Square to bring out a 2024 compatible version.
@davidwitherow9006 күн бұрын
Having said which, I'm currently watching watching the streamer Twotonemurphy flying the TBM 850 quite happily in MSFS 2024. The only problem he has is that custom registrations don't show up, leaving black rectangles on the sides of the Black Square.
@MSFSFlightPlans5 күн бұрын
Ah, I didn't realize the 830 is the steam gauge version of the 930. I have that for 2020 and absolutely love the plane. It may be my favorite turboprop. On the subject of TPs, I just got the Bronco from Azurepoly, which ORBX said was compatible for 2024. I hopped in and got all excited because it immediately came across as a better "feel" than the free version I'd flown in 2020 ... then I realized the throttle levers seem to be bugged so that once you go into beta there is no coming out. And the backlight on the avionics is too dark to see in the daytime, even at max settings. So that was $27 I wish I could have back in my billfold for a while.
@davidwitherow9004 күн бұрын
@@MSFSFlightPlans In case you're tempted to dash out (or stay in) and buy the TBM 850, I should mention that after my last post the streamer I was watching said "Of course you have to copy the TBM 930 from 2020 into 2024 to get the sound." Further checking showed that sources differ as to whether it should go into 2024's Official or Community folder. Maybe it works either way. I wish I could help you with the OV-10 beta issue but it works for me whether I choose on the tablet to set the beta range on the throttle or use a reverser binding. My first 2024 flight in the Bronco was in horribly overcast conditions so I could (just) read my GTN 650. Then I tried it in sunlight.... AzurPoly will do an update but they say they're working on the Transall C160 first. BTW, I'm not the most effusive person you'll never meet, but I do enjoy your channel.
