The only story here with actual evidence is the last one, and that one doesn't look as big as the story claimed. I'm thinking under 17 easy. Any time i hear stories of whites 20+ feet i have to assume some level of bullshit. Also, any sighting in winter is very extremely unlikely due to the cold.

The Travel Industry covers up THE TRUTH ABOUT Great Whites in The Med, 100% they do. There are still quite a number of Great Whites in The Med for sure there are. In 2015 an Italian man was killed by on off the coast of Italy, his body wasn't found with a GREAT BIG BITE out of it until three days later on the bottom of the sea North West Italy. (Fact)

Unfortunately, Simon was swimming late afternoon, near fishermen, who throw bait into the water, and seals have been seen in that area. Shark saw a fair sized meal, nothing more, or less. Poor guy.

Nellist was swimming out from Little Bay Beach, he was 150 meters into his swim not 150 meters from the end. This was a strictly predatory attack, we all saw it, the shark knew he wasn't a seal, he was just hungry enough not to care what he was consuming.

I am not a shark expert. I am a Gormodite expert. And I say, if your hungry enough and desperate enough you will eat whale shite. And so it is with sharks, some of which are the garbage collectors of the ocean. "Have I eaten lately? Do you feel lucky? Well do yah ?"

The Mediterranean monk seal, once likely a staple of the white shark’s diet for centuries, has been driven to near extinction. This severe decline in a key prey species, combined with the impact of pollution, overfishing, and the overall scarcity of alternative food sources, paints a bleak picture for the white shark population. It’s no wonder that sightings of white sharks in these areas are exceedingly rare. The individuals that are occasionally observed tend to be either newborns or large, mature females, likely having migrated significant distances from other regions. Considering the high levels of human activity in these waters and the notable lack of compelling evidence for their sustained presence, it is entirely plausible that the white shark is now on the brink of extinction in these regions, if not already lost.

At least one impromptu test re. white shark vision, conducted by a research biologist, determined that white sharks have very accute vision. White sharks spy hop, surely this in it's own right demonstrates visual acuity, otherwise why would they do it? Collier demonstrates the most reasonable opinion re. mistaken identity, in that doubtless it is sometimes relevant, but that more often than not it is not a consideration. White sharks are apex predators, unparalleled evolutionarily other than perhaps by crocodiles. They attain lengths beyond 20ft, maybe as long as 25ft, they weigh many thousands of lbs and are superlative ambush predators. We are fortunate to rarely feature on their menu but undoubtedly we do feature, as demonstrated by the Nellist predation event.

I know those beaches and headlands well... His route, at anytime of the day or year was suicide. No one I know of in surfing, amateur fishing, professional fishing or ocean swimmingwould take that same route in a million years. Ignorance killed him. Next he would've been in an African Savannah training for a marathon amongst lion dens. I'm so sry for his family. He made a fatal error of judgement based on ignorance. He was experienced enough. And he ignored plainly obvious signs of a 'fish highway' ... including swimming directly in front of burlying fisherman. I'm sort of lost for words why he did it.

That shark was over 25 yrs old. It has seen and swum around hundreds if not thousands of humans before the death of Mr Nellis. It was no mistake.

This was %100 without a doubt a predation, the fact that it not only set itself up for a full ambush and came back for him 3 seperate times suggests that. The initial attack did not sever him in half as he was seen trying to swim away after the initial hit, the second attack was when he was bitten in half and the third time it took the rest. All that remained were organs and a piece of wet suit. The most common time for mistaken identity to occur is during the transition from hunting rays and fish to penipeds and other marine mammals, this white was 15 ft well and truly passed that stage and it didnt investigate him what so ever it went from 0 to 100. That being said it can still occur however as stated the fact it returned and had fully commited to an ambush suggests it was commited to attack whatever was moving on the surface at that time. We have a tendency to look at these magnificent animals with rose tinted glasses and try to find reasons for tragic encounters such as this, when in reality the answer is very straight forward people just refuse to accept it for some reason. My personal theory for this is the La ninia causes the water to heat up which in turn causes the metabolism of marine species to speed up making it so they need to feed more frequently. Though seals do sometimes visit the area it isnt all that common to see them as they usually stick to montague island rougly 279 kilometers away. This was an absolute tragedy and shook the community to the core as im sure you all know this was the first Sydney fatality due to a shark attack for nearly 60 years.

Not having done my research on why experts question shark vision, I'm curious to why they even question it at all after 450 million years of demonstrably successful evolution. It comes across to me as denial of the concept that a shark would conceivably choose to predate upon a human. Please enlighten me.

Hello first time watching. Good videos. I think you should edit your videos a little bit once you’re done recording before you upload in order to delete some of the breaks/pauses in your speech and in order to make it a little bit more dynamic. Very interesting otherwise. I would say probably right to hunt a problem shark. It’s the same thing with bears, once they learn to hunt humans it’s safer to take them out. Sharks are far from stupid and they do learn attack patterns.

I had a good source for this attack somewhere. From what I remember Vandi had just turned 16 or was about to, not 18. And from what I remember she was either a royal or very closely tied to them and from a very wealthy family. The boy with her wasn't her boyfriend per say but her manservant/"companion" I think they called them back then. Gotta say he was a badass kid if the story is true he saw the shark coming at her and got in the way. This was supposed to be a massive since it first bit her fully in half in one bite. That being said where I live in Maine, USA they always wondered if GWS come this far to hunt(duh, of course they do) but they know now because just a handful of years ago at a town down the coast from us a lady got killed by a large white when swimming in a inlet.

Most of these Greek or Mediterranean shark attacks happened in the 1950s and 1960s, not including ancient Greece of course. And the last fatal shark attack was in 1989, close to Elba North West italy. So i would not be so worried nowadays. When i was in Mallorca several fishermen said they have not seen a Great White since the 1970s, so all the evidence suggests the White Shark population have not returned like on the coast of Massachusetts and South East Canada.
@victorpulis51135 ай бұрын
the 1956 incident has several questions surrounding it. When Jack Smedley was taken Tony Grech swam to shore and asked a local man with a boat to go out to look for his friend. when he was on the boat Grech noticed what looked like fish scales stuck to his chest.Now this is puzzling. Sharks don't have scales, their skin is made up of dermal denticles which are millions of minute teeth.A shark's skin is so tough that carpenters used it before the invention of sand paper. If it was a shark that took Smedley and passed under Grech it would have taken Grech's skin rather than leave its own behind! In the case of the huge shark taken near Filfla island the shark was already dead entangled in a net when the fishermen found it and the measurement was never officially verified.

As a youth I swam quite a lot off the coast of crete after watching jaws even lol. I often looked around underwater though I admit. That goes to say I was an ignorant youth and didn’t even know there were great whites in the med. I thought my fear from watching jaws before summer vacation was invalid..I went there three times with my family and every time I swam out alone or with my parents waaay out, but only in places not knows for currents of course. As I am watching this is sending chills down my spine, 6 to 8 meters, I don’t even wanna know how deep it was where we swam, that’s insane and how long as well. Never again could I do that now.
