I grew up on the Judy Collins version of this song and didn't discover the Suzy Bogguss cover until recently. I'm still partial to Judy Collins - and also Ian & Sylvia's original version, which I also discoverer just within the past several years - but this IS really good, too ...

I only remember one episode in which the Confederate States were brought up and it was about some buried treasure in Hazard, in the form of stolen Confederate payroll from the civil war. It turned out that the only valuable thing about the treasure was a letter signed by Abe Lincoln, which completely undermined any idea about racism. That show was as wholesome as tv got in primetime. All inclusive. It was entertainment for everyone
