I have a wasr 10 made in 2018. I have no idea what kind of finish it has, but it came from century. However this video intrigues me. Will it replicate the bluing on old AK's, and will it stick to my finish?

DuraBlue Polished Black will look similar to the old AKs. We suggest that you rough up the existing finish with 400 grit sandpaper after degreasing. We cannot be sure since we do not know what type of finish Century used but chances are good that it will be compatible.

I used DuraPark on my Uzi. I had a little problem with the coat at first, but the company made it right. This is a great company that I highly recommend. The finish is quite nice.

We do not recommend it since you will not get proper adhesion. If the part is rusty, you should sand or sandblast to remove the rust.

Is it necessary to sand the surface? I want to duracoat an AR-15 and the anodizing is flawless but still textured on its own.

You will need to sand the anodizing to open the pores for proper adhesion.

For a shotgun after you remove the trigger group do you have to take apart every single part of the trigger group or can you just clean the trigger group good and spray it if it’s already got some blueing on it?

It is always best to disassemble as far as you can so you get the parts properly degreased. If you leave any parts together, oil could seep out from between the parts and cause adhesion issues.

DuraCoat will withstand up to 600F. For items that will get above that temperature, use our DuraHeat 2.0 High Temperature coating.

DuraCoat should be applied between 0.5 and 1.5 mils so it will not affect the tolerances of the parts.

Only one problem with this type of paint in rattle can... Once you mix in the hardener, you have to use up the whole can. It has a very short shelf life.... like an hour or two. This brings up a question of cost efficiency. If you plan to do this more than one or two times.. you'd be better served by owning real spraying equipment and mixing up a the amount you need for each project. I'm betting it cost nearly as much to do this yourself as to have it done by a professional.

Our cans last up to four weeks after activation so you have plenty of time to use it up.

I have painted with enamels and epoxies that use a catalyst (hardener), they turn solid in a matter of hours. They cure on the finished object in the same amount of time. How long do I have to wait before I assemble my gun, if i paint it with your product?

The best option would be to sandblast it. You do not have to completely remove it, just rough it up and remove some to prevent it from becoming too thick.

We recommend either Matte Black or Tactical Black depending on how much sheen you want. You can coat over the existing factory anodizing by degreasing and roughing it up.

Yes, DuraCoat can be layered to create camo patterns. You should rough up the existing finish with sandpaper.

Items can be reassembled the next day but you should not use any harsh cleaners or put it through rough use for 3-4 weeks.
