It's like a canoe on steroids. The ultimate kayak skiff. Would be great for a camping excursion

This comes to the point I’ve said for years and it’s that hobie needs to bring a new kayak to the market that’s a mix of the Outback and the PA. I have a pa and think ima go to an Outback instead. Problems I have is I wish the Outback sat slightly higher in the water and I wish it had just a bit more deck space. Problems with the PA is they are very large and heavy and if you fish smaller creeks and rivers they do not work well

I know this was a long time ago and I'm sure you've got it figured out by now but you don't have the hook exposed enough. You're burying the bait of worm too far into the hook. You need the hook almost poking out of the worm

Great vid man - I know it's been a minute, but would you mind answering this: I'm 6'2, 220, will mostly fish lakes and rivers in TX (2-8 ft depth)...budget's kinda blown with a $2.5k or $4.5k kayak anyway, lol, so selling motorcycle to finance purchase. It's going to either be this yak (Outback, camo) or the PA12/14. For me it's about stability (PA12/14 wins) but also not scraping the bottom/being slow (outback?). Thoughts? Thx in advance.

I had a Hobie when I lived in Waimea, Kauai.went out early one morning, not paying attention I got swamped by a big wave. Lost a trolling motor, battery, fishing poles. But lived to tell the tell

Thanks for the review. How did you find this rod did with other tasks beyond just jerkbaits? Looking for a rod that does well with JB primarily but can also excel with shakyheads, finesse jigs around 1/4 oz, squarebills/small cranks, and top water. Thanks for the video and info!
@chefmatt62994 жыл бұрын
Also can it handle magnum sized (5/8) jerkbaits well? Thanks!
@RelentlessBassFishing4 жыл бұрын
I would probably recommend a mh rod with a fast tip 7’+. This rod is good for finesse but it’s not for anything over 3/8 imo
@chefmatt62994 жыл бұрын
@@RelentlessBassFishing what about 1/4 oz shakyheads, finesse jigs below that 3/8, or vision 110s?

Nice rig man. Glad to see another tournament angler in a PA17. It’s such a game changer. Take care and see you on the trail. Next upgrade you need is the trolling motor on the front. It’s amazing. I am in Texas as well gonna be hitting Lake Limestone soon, have you fished it yet? I have a club event coming up soon.

Hi, great review, I had a pro angler 12, and switched to the new 2019 outback, without demo it first’ I virtually thought of it this way, I traded off the weight, the room, from the pro angler, for the fishability, functionality, speed, and the virsatility, of the outback’ pretty much, what ever the pro angler can do, the new 2019 outback can do better in my opinion’ so I just love the new outback ‘ all the best !

Hard to tell if it's the go pro fish eye or not, but do you feel that the pod is far ways away from the seat? I don't want to be forced into an 11" screen that costs more than the kayak to be able to see side imaging.
@RelentlessBassFishing4 жыл бұрын
LakeVermilionDreams it was on of my thoughts as well. I think a 9” will work perfect but a 7” might be a little small depending on your eyes

How durable are the berley pro mounts I got one coming for my outback for helix 8 MSI + and I want to take it in the river but it's a 350 dollar Transducer so I'm iffy but I already owned the unit had it on a pontoon so its gonna pull double duty

I keep my alde on an nrx. It’s a ridiculous combo....I’m sure you could split hairs, spend a ton of money (not that a $900 combo is cheap...) and end up with a lighter setup but it’s NOT gonna be by much...it’s almost not possible at these weights. Such a comfortable setup...it’s almost nonexistent in your hand.

Im looking into getting into kayaking next summer, mainly fishing. I was wondering if this would be a great fit for creeks, small rivers, places boats can't get to. Im very much into flathead fishing and Im looking into this kayak as it's sturdy and it would be able to hold my camping gear. So, am I over my head by wanting this or is there a better kayak for what I want to do?
@RelentlessBassFishing5 жыл бұрын
Kam Khamtanh it’s not a bad option but it’s best to go demo a bunch of kayaks for yourself
