Good review in my opinion. You said exactly how you felt about it. I think some people take that the wrong way. Every kayak has good and bad things about it. Its basic fact that a wide kayak like that, that sit high on the water will not track great when compared to more narrow and longer kayaks. And sitting high it will easily catch wind and drift. I have the same issues with the Pelican Catch 120 doesn’t track well and drifts in the wind, I’d never argue that it doesn’t. But for $1600 the Bonafide should have a rudder in my opinion.

Very comfortable seat! I do not care for the way you sit on the folded seat bar when in the low position. Not even an option for me. Still love this kayak!

Im looking into getting into kayaking next summer, mainly fishing. I was wondering if this would be a great fit for creeks, small rivers, places boats can't get to. Im very much into flathead fishing and Im looking into this kayak as it's sturdy and it would be able to hold my camping gear. So, am I over my head by wanting this or is there a better kayak for what I want to do?

Is the seat to high?Also someone commented on it being uncomfortable in the low position,is that true?The seat is the only thing keeping me from purchasing this kayak I've been wanting to pull the trigger on it for about a year not but I have alot of concerns about the seat besides that I think it should be an amazing kayak.

The Best Of ! The seat wasn’t bad but in all honesty, I think the ATAK 120 is a way better kayak for roughly the same price. If you can demo, then definitely do it. My opinion means nothing to your experience.

I disagree greatly, that thing tracks very well, even in the wind. The fishability on this kayak is ridiculous, the seat is incredible, storage system is unmatched. I can really pack that kayak, I always put 6 or more rods, power pole rod, paddle, rain gear, in the hull. The only negative, which can be remedied, is that it doesn't hold position well at all in wind. I added anchor wizard in the front coupled with power pole in the rear to lock it down.

Tony Jones I’m glad you love the kayak and that it’s perfect for you. I did this video so that people can get a rough idea about the kayak from a novice paddler that had only been in it for an hour. But just to clear up confusion, you said it tracks very well and then said it’s only negative is that it doesn’t hold position in the wind. I consider that part of tracking. Cause every kayak moves straight when you are full on paddling, but when you take one stoke and try to hold position going down the bank with wind, it turns. You admitted that as well which I why I said I didn’t think it tracked all that well. But if you still disagree, that’s totally fine. All I can do is give my opinion of the kayak and that’s what I did. I encourage everyone to demo first before buying so they can get their own opinions.

Understood, I was simply referring to tracking when you intentionally want to move. My challenge with the Bonafide SS127 is when I don't want to move at all and it's windy. When I want to remain in a general location and pick apart a spot, the wind will easily blow you way off your spot.......but problem solved with anchor wizard and power pole combo. Nice talking with you, thanks for the clarity on perspective .

Absolutely and I completely agree with everything you just said. Any kayak that sits high off the water is going to have those problems, and anchoring devices definitely solve that. Great talking to you

I think you're nitpicking. The stability is the identity of this kayak. No other kayak come close. Same with the seat, it's a simple 3-step process.

RedTheRabbit I didn’t say it wasn’t stable. I said that the stability is weird and different than any other kayak. Stability is also a difficult concept, because everyone sees it differently, which is why I tried to articulate what the stability felt like for me. I also said that I don’t have a lot of experience with the seat.
