Good to see you back. Could the ancient copper mugs have accidentally had ancient jasper put on them? I absolutely love the ones with the pink “fringe” top.

hmm.. you have a good point, I certainly need a test tile before continue using that glaze.

It's so beautirul! On the back side of the bowl, you added ancient copper and honey flux but skipped adding blue rutile and purple crystal. But the finished bowl shows blue rutile and purple crystal. why? I am trying to follow this glaze orders on my bisque bowl. Help!!
@RJMPottery11 күн бұрын
sorry about that, I guess I did not show fully how I glazed the back side. I did add the blue rutile and purple crystal on the back in same manner on how i added inside the bowl. The only difference is I added the ancient copper at the bottom to catch the glaze as the honey flux combo is so runny as you can see how far the purple crystal ran inside the bowl.

thank you for sharing your talent. It's about the matching fruit bowl, do you apply honey flux inside of the bowl before applying all other glazes? I am a hobby potter and want to try this glaze combo for my bowl.
@RJMPottery14 күн бұрын
yes I use honey flux first before layering it with other colors, but if you are talking about the bowl with the ancient copper rim then I did not put honeyflux under it. The rim is plain ancient copper and below it was honeyflux as a base

Beautiful work. How many pounds of clay for the large mugs? Also did you dip or brush?

I usually do 1.4 but got some requests to do some 25+ oz mugs which I use 1 and a half pound of clay

Do I have this right? You are putting glazes that are not food-safe on vessels that look like glasses to drink from. I consider that a bad idea. 2. I don't find the glazes attractive. They remind me of something moldy or damaged.
@martinfullauto3 ай бұрын
They are all test vessels they are clearly marked and never leave the studio. We have a shelf that all test pieces go so we can refer back to them.
