i think the circles that go around the Tau crosses are imitation hermits girdles, with the ends hanging down to form the pattern of the window. i think it comes from the Egyptian ankh with a girdle above the Tau cross. I think the tau cross within a circle and a bell above or below was the insignia of the (knights) order of St Anthony

How many hours a day do you walk? Is there a third person photographing you?
@HIKINGWAYS2 жыл бұрын
Hi. I walked for 35 days and I did everything myself. I walked a lot back and forth while filming. A also used a good drone.

I met Paul in person (for the first time) in Villafranca in summer 2021. I'd known him online for several years. Great to hear his story. Thanks!

Hi Paul, Yep I started walking in 2010, from SJPdP through to Santiago in 33 days. That was my introduction to the Camino! Since then I'd walked from Santiago to Muxia via Fisterre and then on to the little Fox House with Tracy as hostess. That was in 2015. Then in 2016 I walked from Lisbon through to Santiago via Porto. It does become addictive; putting all your belongings in a rucksack and then just walking. A bed for the night, something to eat and sharing stories with other Pilgrims and then getting up next morning to do it all over again. This coming May, I want to walk the Camino Primitivo from Oviedo through to Santiago, celebrating my 80th birthday. Hope to meet up with you when I am there and cement our friendship! Art€

Your pack has straps to attach a sleeping pad--VERY important as a lot of new packs do NOT have such straps. I have walked 4 caminos and would never walk without a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad and therefore need straps on the outside! I wear a fishing vest to carry things--europeans claim that ONLY Americans use fanny packs!! And a lot of people ONLY put flags of countries tghe pack has visited on the pack--most do not put their home country flag on it.

Thanks. I have never thought about it. I have always put everything inside the bag. But we learn as long as we walk!

Controlling friction between bone and skin is key. Two sock layers on top of each other work better than single layer. Double socks with both layers connected, like Wrightsock, work better than two separate layers.
@outsiderswalks54602 жыл бұрын
this used to be the standard view, statistical evidens though shows no real difference between 1 and 2 pair of socks :) - so if 2 works for you, fine, i have been wearing 1 for many years without issues
