Your pack has straps to attach a sleeping pad--VERY important as a lot of new packs do NOT have such straps. I have walked 4 caminos and would never walk without a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad and therefore need straps on the outside! I wear a fishing vest to carry things--europeans claim that ONLY Americans use fanny packs!! And a lot of people ONLY put flags of countries tghe pack has visited on the pack--most do not put their home country flag on it.

Thanks. I have never thought about it. I have always put everything inside the bag. But we learn as long as we walk!
