Thank you so very much! My sister was an organist and I can vividly remember her playing this piece as I listened to her practice. Unfortunately, she lost her life to cancer at the age of 22.

This sounds so Gothic even though is was Baroque. I can understand why Bach was revived in the Gothic Revival 19th century unlike most other Baroque composers.

Played well, but if your vacuuming or forcing the neighbours to enjoy your music the bass is muddled in this one.

7:25 the echoing parts you need to change manuals every time.8:08 staccato it sounds great up top but downstairs it muddies up because of the doppler effect.

It really shows here how an organ is built into a building, and the acoustics of that building matter. You can't play different organs the same way, and expect the same result.

there's so much going on here, i can't believe i just found this performance. and it really just took me this long to figure out why, aside from the "spooky" sound (which i'm guessing mainly stems from 20,000 Leagues), this piece is so popular: Bach penned the ultimate "show-off" work. it took seeing a performance, but this is just calling for the organist to flex every flex they can possibly flex with their instrument. of course every organist with the sheet music is going to try to play it perfectly, it's like earning your keyboard black belt.
