You MUST WET the cloth before removal.

I saw a comment here that says to use scrotchet pin and it worked.

Also the bottom button clip at the bottom the one the knot goes into can come out and you stuff the support strings into the hole to shorten the whole bottom if you have taken a few slats out. Replace the button and it holds the support strings in.

I don't see any problem with that size of a gap.The fix looks worse than the gap and a small gap is needed.
