Ferment Keker for a shorter period of time, then add berries, and continue fermenting to the desired consistency.

I live in Central Gulf coast FL. I grow purslane in 50gal pots. As it matures, the leaves higher up are not succulent but are larger, more normal & a small plume similar to amaranth or quinoa grows from the center. Can these mature leaves & plume be eaten? Thanks
@lulishomestead67672 күн бұрын
We try to eat them when they are young her plants, more mature ones may require heavier dishes like a stew.

Does the white flour need Bay leaves as well?
@lulishomestead67672 күн бұрын
Yes, but I don’t store white flour for very long, we use it within a year. Beans, rise, pasta, and wheat berries are stored for a much longer time (20-30 years). Those long term things need bay leaves.

Unfortunately sale of raw milk is not permitted in New Zealand . I do remember taste of it and can even after so many years being away from Europe remember how delicious it was. Remember when my grandmother use to boil rawmilk she would let it cool somea nd collect the thick top which was called kaymak.And it was divine.Other thing i miss is drinkable yoghurt which we also dont have here. Your yoghurt must taste very good. Thank you for sharing. Cheers

Do you mean the Enzymes? The Fatty Acids don't change. Unless Homogenised. I can only handle Raw, but it is Banned in Ontario. Gov has everyone Scared TO Sell! On FB tons of people are trying. We keep getting hit with, No one will Sell it! But some places are Selling Raw Milk, under Pet Foods. Heaven only knows how much that Costs! I literally inherited a Lack of Digestion Enzymes, from my father. Goat Milk is what works best for us. My children and grandsons seem to also inherited it.

So hearing different things from different herbalists. When using dried fill all way to top of jar. When dried fill up and leave 2 inches approximately brlow top of jar. 🤦♀️confusion
@lulishomestead67677 күн бұрын
Folk method herbalism is different than using a scale. It all depends on how the folk method was passed down. I usually prefer to use fresh plants for tinctures. The most common ratio is 2:1 ( fresh plant to 100 proof vodka) I leek to fill the jar about 3/4 of the way knowing that there’s a lot of open spaces between the herb leaves. I hope this makes sense.
@sgmarr9 күн бұрын
HAHAHAHA 😂 Speak to your Doctor! That is a good joke! I just heard a long time Herbalist (expert) speak on this one. She states this herb IS given a bad rap. It does not Counter Meds Instead it speeds up the Liver Stimulant. So the Meds, which ARE Chemical and Foreign to our bodies, is Sped up in Removing the Poison. Obviously these are my words, not the Herbalist Expert. But it IS Truth! Meds are Poisons, made from Oil/Gasoline. It is also under Pharmakea Witchcraft. Warned to Stay Away From. Not the herb.
