I need frequent reminders of the "untested" nature of social media on our brains, especially children. Thanks again Rainn & Soul Boom. ❤

I logged out of SM for a month and I could almost feel the cortisol fade away by the hour. Every day I felt better. Highly recommend.

Thank you for highlighting such an important topic Rainn. When I started noticing the impact of social media & news on my daily life - I tried not to constantly check Instagram, telegram news, etc. For example: to check once daily for 1 hour in the evening. The results were visible within the day. I realized that I have more time to do some chores, and to be more concentrated on my work (and thus spend less time on it), I also started to seek possibilities to connect to other people, like calling them or going out to socialize. My war on those distractions is far from the end, I still, sometimes break my rules, especially when something in life doesn't go right. But once you see the impact it has on your life - there is no way back. I also highly recommend the book "Anxious Generation" - many of the statements of Dr. Vivek Murthy I read in that book.

It's so hard not to be consumed with social media! Thank you for sharing 💙

Society is too individualistic. Look at raising kids. Grandpa and grandma are obligated to raise grandchildren, and so are aunts and uncles. Not a daycare. You take care of your grandparents, not a elderly home. You don't kick your kid out at 18 either normalize generational living. Don't follow these social obligations and your fertility rate drops and people become lonely.
