Yup, those black flames are known as the Amaterasu, a powerful flame technique. And because Naruto grew up without parents, he looked at Jiraiya as the next best thing. Funny enough, Jiraiya is actually his godfather, you'll learn more about way later down the lines. That woman beside Tsunade is indeed her assistant, her name is Shizune
