I had insanely high expectations for the Mayuri/Nemu vs Pernida fight, and they managed to blow them all away. I can't believe how well done all of this was from the absurdity of the fight to the emotional impact of Nemu's death and the incredible character moments it has on Mayuri as a result. TYBW. Does. During the Ryoka Arc after fight between Uryu and Kurotsuchi, Nemu thanked Uryu that he didn't kill him and during the battle Kurotsuchi mentioned that Nemu's body is made from the same MATERIAL as his own body. From the very start we knew that she developed much more than he predicted and got ability to make decisions on her own!) Very nice character😊 Yeah Zach, Nanao at the poem gonna make epic next episode, great story there by the way Kurotsuchi double saved boys(the only ones) who can defeat the "Miracle" OP fights are on the way, can't wait for part 4

This episode was the one I was most looking forward to this cour and the one I dreaded above all. === We've known since the Soul Society arc that Nemu was an enhanced artificial soul that was created by combining Gigai and Modified Soul technology. She's essentially a female clone/daughter of Mayuri. === Hojiku-Zai (補肉剤, Flesh-mending Drug; Viz "Flesh-Healing Medicine"): Mayuri has developed a "regenerative serum," which can regrow limbs upon injection, and looks like some sort of green chemical. He used it to regenerate his arm when he fired it off as a grappling hook during his fight with Uryu, and complained about the side-effects of pain that the serum caused. It can also be used to heal less severe injuries, such as those suffered by Uryū and Renji during their fight with Szayelaporro. === Nerve-Freezing Agent (神経凝固剤, Shinkei Gyōko-zai; Viz "Nerve Coagulating Agent"): A drug injected into the nerves of an organism which forcefully freezes any organs connected to those nerves; open eyelids will remain open, hearts will not expand or contract, and mouths will become unable to shut. The blood of the organism also coagulates, effectively killing the target. Once the drug begins to take effect, the victim's skin becomes dark in coloration. However, this can be countered if the target's skin is divided into multiple layers, which allows it to simply shed a damaged one and remain unaffected, as with Pernida Parnkgjas. === Nemu finally evolved beyond Mayuri's "programming" and started acting for herself. This episode (and the chapters it adapts) is why I will never quite bring myself to like Mayuri. I will never forgive him for Nemu's death because of his hubris. === Konpaku Sessaku (魂魄切削, Soul Cutting; Viz "Soul Slicer"): Nemu can cut off portions of her soul and use them to attack her opponent. Gikon Jūrinjū (義魂重輪銃, Artificial Soul Heavy Circle Cannon; Viz "Heavy Artificial Soul Cannon") is a technique which Nemu Kurotsuchi can perform via Konpaku Sessaku. Sacrificing 6% of her soul, Nemu fires it at her target in the form of a ball of energy, which blows a clean hole in the target by warping their body around itself. === I love that the shadow of Szayelaporro continues to haunt Mayuri as a manifestation of being rebuked because of his hubris. === RIP Nemuri Kurotsuchi, the dream of your creator who you surpassed. Nemu was given a beautiful OST to send her off. === I love that Pernida died by what is essentially cancer. === The reason Mayuri believes he surpassed Urahara is because he believes he and he alone has been able to create truly autonomous artificial souls (conventional Mod Souls are limited by needing an external vessel) capable of self-evolution and rivalling Shinigami. Poor Mayuri isn't aware of Jinta and Ururu being Artificial Souls created by Urahara though I will grant Mayuri that Nemu is likely much stronger having been able to become a lieutenant (due to having a Shinigami body rather than a Human one) in the Gotei 13. === That scene with the Bambis was brand new. All of the old Soldat were killed by the Auswahlen so I think the new ones are the eyeball monsters Yhwach created from his father's excess power. === The poem at the end is Nanao, Shunsui's Lieutenant.

Better late than never, I guess! -Fun fact: they had to keep dubbing the Akon's conversation because his VA couldn't help but talk softly to child Nemu. -Most people think of either Grimmjow or Ulquiorra when they remember the Espada but, actually, Szayelaporro could be called the "breakout character". He was at the Hell special episode at the time Hell Verse came out, he appeared right now in Mayuri's mind and there's a novel called Spirits Are Forever With You (that takes place between the Arrancar arc and the Lost Agent arc) which delves into his backstory. A novel which I highly recommend you to read. -In the manga, Candice and Meninas's fate was left up in the air after the Auswahlen. Them being turned into zombies by Giselle is an anime-only scene. -Thank god you've noticed that, yes, the SK was always a Quincy. Most people still don't get it, and some even called him a hybrid. -The poem's voice isn't Ohana's. It's actually Nanao's. Also, actually in the manga, the Pernida fight and the Lille fight were continuous fight, one after the another. The anime decided to alternate between them, thus the reason they ended the first episodes with cliffhangers.

I think Soul King was neither Soul Reaper nor Quincy or any other race. I think when Pernida was taken by Yuhabaha from Ichibei Hyosube, Pernida became part of Yuhabaha. When he released Soul King's left hand grew into a Sentient being and then probably he was named 'Pernida Parnkgjas' by Yuhabaha himself and he became quincy after getting released by Yuhabaha. Since Pernida became sentient being, he was Quincy. So it technically makes sense when Pernida said that he was always Quincy. Because he doesn't have any memory or data before his own existence as sentient being. Hence if I claim without any evidence that Soul Kimg is not Quincy then I am neither right nor wrong. Let the arc proceed further.🤜

Basically, Pernida accidentally gave itself mega-cancer. Nemu is less his kinda-daughter, and more a female clone. Remember, her 5th incarnation was made partially with his sword, which is a part of Mayuri's soul, and so the basic components of her soul grew from a part of his. It would be like a guy took his genetic code and somehow duplicated his X chromosome to create an XX "clone." Also, it would be funny if Mayuri tries to brag to Urahara about creating a synthetic shinigami, because Jinta and Ururu (the kids living with Urahara) are the same type of being as Nemu. There is a natural break point in the story that I think they will be stopping on. It's not just between fights, but it also is on a reveal (and likely a flashback). If that's where they stop, cour 4 is just going to be straight combat. And 2 of the fights in particular are going to be 2-3 episodes each (and, yes, one of them is where that Yoruichi scene is from).
