I noticed you disconnected a couple hoses. Do you need to drain the coolant to do this job? That would bite, because I just drained and restored my coolant but I definitely need a new gasket for my vacuum pump on my 07 Beetle.

I've performed this procedure three times on my 3.6, and it has saved me a significant amount of time. Here's a step-by-step guide to help streamline the process. Wrench Modification: Take a 14mm wrench and bend the ring end in a vice, ensuring you can look through down the shaft and see the ring sticking out. Then, cut about 5mm off the end of the ring, creating a cut-out hole. This will allow you to pass the wrench through the fuel line and tighten the screw more easily. Cleaning Carbon Deposits: While the manifold is off, it's a good opportunity to clean the carbon deposits. Use a socket and rotate the crankcase to clean cylinders 2-4-6, followed by 1-3-5. Be sure to block the open valve holes with tissue. You can use a drill with cable ties... yes insert about 5 cables ties into the chuck of the drill head and tighten, spray cleaner to effectively remove buildup, or a scraper as needed. Afterward, ensure everything is thoroughly cleaned. Injector Seal Maintenance: The 3.6 is known for injector seal leaks, so it's a good idea to replace them while the manifold is off. The parts are inexpensive ($3-$5 each on Amazon). You’ll need: 3 X 03H198149A (Fuel Injector O-Ring Kit - Upper) 3 X 03H198149 (Fuel Injector O-Ring Kit - Lower) You can change these end seals without removing the injectors, I also use rubber greese on the seals which helps with install and seal. Additionally, I recommend using a new manifold gasket each time. However, if you don't have a replacement and need to reuse the old one, apply Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket Sealant (liquid and paste) generously over the gasket. I also use this sealant on new gaskets. The reason for this is that it makes removal much easier when you need to take the manifold off again in the future. I hope this will help alot of people. Regards Dan

Thank you for the awesome video! Very helpful! There’s another gasket at the bottom bottom of that oil cooler. If you notice the big nut on the inside of the oil filter canister, that can be removed with a 46 mm socket and just beneath there is another rubber gasket. If you remove that first, it’s a little easier to do this job because you can take the entire thing out.

@onnolly Thanks Percy, the address above looks to be the house that Cru rides backwards as the old man says "The porch, I've told you a million times the porch" ( :19 seconds in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHzCeIpvnt6Za7c ). When Cru drops into the backyard pool look at the roof outline of the house, large chimney & skylight, doesn't look to be a match for 20 Bow either. I went down a rabbit hole here so if I'm way off say the word, lol! It's an interesting area that looks to have had a good amount of tear-downs & new construction in the last 20+ years? Due to the lack of sidwalks and curbs it looks to be Bow Cresent NW. On that street, it looks like the first house Cru turns into is 7035 Bow Cresent NW (u-shaped, right next to another driveway) then drops a paper (red-wood fence in background) then as he exits there are 2 trees that have double trunks at the base. Cru crosses the street to 7028 Bow Cresent NW down a long driveway with a power pole on the North side - the pool house - and when he 360's out of the pool the river has an island in the background. This island matches a real estate video by Plintz for this address. When they show the backyard/river view it looks to match the island contours. What do you think? EDIT: I found vintage aerial photos at this site maps.calgary.ca/CalgaryImagery and the pool can be seen as well as the old house with matching roofline. The current house looks to be have multiple add-ons or maybe the original was torn-down and this a new house constructed in the mid-late ninties? Fun stuff! I hope to make it to the next RAD ride day. Thanks again Percy for filming/sharing your video's, very awesome!

I ended everything as well, and as I was pulling the intake up to the driver side, I push the rail off the intake with my fingers to get the clearance that I neededto get the intake off there are two I called them nubs, but they’re basically big round tubes that bolts go through to hold the intake on on the underside where you cannot see the fuel rail goes around those I’m looking for a photo of that
