In Gayrece, A580 costs about 203€. The B580 hasn't launched yet (not to my knowledge at least) but it's safe to think that it will be priced around 300€. On Linux (recent benchmarks were made on Phoronix), B580 has a very slight advantage over A580 who, not only performs surprisingly well but, it's even better on Linux than on Losedows (at least on the banchmark that were used). At least for Vulkan on Linux, battlemage sucks hard!

I did the math based off Jays 2 cents FPS data on the B580 and here are the results. For the A750 get 33% improvement in 1080P for 32% increase in cost. For 1440P gaming you get 35% improvement. For A770 you get 24% improvement for 9% cost increase in 1080P. In 1440P its a 20% improvement. This puts the A770 in a hard spot even though it has 16GB memory. I can see price cuts coming. These costs are based off the lowest A750 and A770 I could find on Amazon and Newegg.

i just clicked on this video to answer the question: no. and thats a good thing for once. A series SUCKED. thats why no one uses it or stuck with it. its a sad truth because it otherwise is a decent piece of hardware. Best guess is they needed to prove they could make a gpu before being granted a full wing of people dedicated to it. Thats why alchemist has little to none DX support so older games and software wouldnt run or just wouldnt play nicely. On what it is properly configured to work with, its between a 3060ti-3070+ in performance which is very nice! it just has crap for support. Battlemage is supposed to have a performance uplift AND the proper support from the start. so it should be actually viable for more user-scenarios, while having better and newer features that you wont be able to just ignore. the two leaked lower end cards look like a perfect match for my mobile pc build. when it launches, if its close to what its hyped up to be i'll probably buy one for that very purpose. And as much as i love AMD, i dont wanna see intel fail. last thing we need is only competition between nvidia and AMD. that would be hell. Im hoping they have a reasonably steady launch and their cards come competitively between 4060-4070 in performance but obviously way cheaper. That would help the pc gaming community soooooo much. Gamers just need acess to decent hardware at a reasonable price. they havent had that in like 6 years.

All from my Local MicroCenter. I don't game on the Desk, I got a separate Gaming rig I built in Feb 2020 in an old Corsair Vengeance case. It has been upgraded and AMD 7500XT 15GB GPU now. 4k and A770 16gb does have a good playable entry level performance. A750 8gb is not enough for 4k needs more VRAM and clock speed being a bit lower leaves it to 1440p. B580 24% faster than A750. It puts the performance on A770 level with a difference that it can't do 4k. 192 vs 256 bus making the difference. I do have to say that I'm very interested what is the performance difference between PCIe 4.0 (REBAR) vs PCIe 5.0 (direct access). So far INTEL gave PCIe 4.0 results with i9-14900k. Point to make is Arrow Lake architecture seems to be tailor made for the ARC with strong E Cores. Also Z890 board and PCIe 5.0 with direct access to CPU and CUDIMM that is needed for high speed and optimal pairing still seems to be idle and not utilized. Where is B770/B780 that in all INTEL system could challenge 5080? It seems like lost opportunity when there is huge interest on these high tier cards. Looking at the presentation of INTEL for B580 and Peter saying 150 games for XeSS when it is over 200 makes me think these cards were ready at least 6 months ago already. Is this why the CEO "retired"? None of the less I'm happy about XeSS2 and it is backwards compatible for the Alchemist. A770 already had doubled it performance and now add XeSS2 with XeSS FG and XeLL. The performance is doubling again. And what about APO in all INTEL system having a huge potential. And overclocking on top. 2786MHz at 1.16V at 271W. Base is 2100MHz (2400MHz) 225W. I'm running A770/i7-13700k for 4k. It works good on almost everything. Aging like fine wine just getting better and better. There is no driver gaps anymore to AMD/Nvidia. All the problems are the same. There are AMD sponsored games and Nvidia sponsored games and INTEL is doing well on both. Sometimes from launch it might take a week or two to optimize but so does AMD and Nvidia trying to run the competition games. I wish all this driver talk would die down already as it has been good for last year already if not better taking in count the architectural differences.
@kennethwilson82367 күн бұрын
all on point, I have the A750 and A770, both on 12600ks with different motherboards (asus and MSI). My A750 lags just due to VRAM at 8GB issues. The A770 for me runs 4k without many issues except for specific games. Starfield is a great example, but most of that was the games problem not the card. Starfield really was not playable until they released a huge patch and has repeatedly needed patches, basically it released in a beta state. Hogwarts legacy is the other game, uses up the vram really quickly on the A750, but no issues on the A770, but I play it at 1440p. Would Like a B770 to replace the A770 and move my A770 to that PC with the A750. Then use the A750 for a 3rd build to mostly be used for a secondary setup used for my server testing. A 265K and a B770 on new build would be optimal for shifting things around.

@@kennethwilson8236 With XeSS2 it might double the performance again. This is wild. A770 has just got stronger in time. It is great to hear from user testimonies that differ from testing that clearly are BIAS. With PCIe 5.0 it might improve again. But yes I'm also waiting for the B770/B780.

@@ProceuTech With XeSS FG and XeLL that are backwards compatible you get a good boost. REBAR vs PCIe 5.0 direct access also should give a good boost that leads to CUDIMM and Arrow Lake boosting the CPU side speed that has a direct effect to GPU. How much is anyone's guess but it should noticeable. Yet no one is talking about APO in all INTEL system that has a promise for 10-50% gains. There is lot more than is talked about.

The 4060ti will perform better in games. Probably worth more but $100 more is really up to whether or not you’re willing to pay that. The base 4060 would out perform the A770 in most titles and that’s about $30 more in a best case scenerio

In think that AVX612 is overrated for floating point ops The code overhead that is required to shuffle data around in the ZMM registers absorbes as lot of the efficiency gain for the actual _mm512 intrinsia. Against an optimized C++ program ai squeeze out 15% speed gain at most writing in assembly, using intrinsics this gain is slightly less
@ProceuTech20 күн бұрын
It’s very hard to disagree- most compilers are good enough in 2024 to use these intrinsics without needing to use them in your code, they’re a flag you can turn on and off in the config/settings.
