The thing I love about this part is how they use the worst car designs (Luke Yugo) to act as villains - such simple yet good car joke

Ok for Cars 3 Doc Argument: Doc died because Paul Newman died and if you watched the entirety of Cars 1 from Beginning to End Doc and McQueen grew to understand have great friendly mentor and apprentice relationship that already established when Doc returned for the Final Piston Cup Race and in the credits As for the McQueen forfeiting for Cruz that’s a thing in Motorsports even in NASCAR which the Piston Cup is based heavily off. A driver can forfeit the race and allow a secondary driver to its place and still have a chance to compete in the race and points standings if having a charter already set for the full season. For example 2016 Daytona 500 and Geico 500 Tony Stewart Forfeit due to the fact that well he was getting old subbing him was Brian Vickers and Stewart was still allowed to compete for his final championship that same yesqr

I'm glad you noticed and pointed out that the parents are tight on money. This stress could be a character in itself because it affects what is said and not said, as well as what is done and what must go undone. The Other Mother gets stressed out, too. Look how she handles stress as opposed to Coralines's real mother. Who's actually abusive here?

Funfact, I watched this film as a very small kid, 5 or 6yo with my mom at the cinema and it altered my brain chemistry by making me realize i have mommy issues, for the next couple of years i just didn't know how to verbalize it xd The motif of dominant mother and father who's submissive to her and just does anything she tells him to do felt so familiar cuz thats how the dynamics in my family were up to the point my parents divorced xd. Now i know it resembled me my own life so much also due to not feeling listened to, not feeling understood by my mother, in my case being even afraid of her (i know it's not the case in Coraline) due to her verbal and something also physical abuse and even tho I was so small I from time to time thought of being adopted by some other mother who would treat me better and who woud love me the way I needed to be loved. There's no conclusion in this comment, I just wanted to share my story and tell all of you that I do to find this animation comforting and even life-altering xd People who just intepret it as a creepy, unsettling movie are m issing go much and I guess they're not mature enough to see all of the things this film has to offer. Not to even mention how brillaintly the creators made an animation that is ucanny in such a unique way, unsettling both for kids and adults yet enjoyable and very very gripping from the beggining. And thank you so much for mentioning how uncanny the ending is, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person who thinks this isn't really a happy end - something feels of and I've felt sice I watched it for the first time that there are thing that has not been adressed. P.S xd Rewatching Coraline as an aduly now i have my interpretation of the movie that I'd like to share - I believe Coraline tells a story of child neglect, it bascally says that fi you don't give your children enough attention and are there always will be someone who take care of them - but for their own purposes. The wonders of the second world with second mother are the metaphor for the cockering predators might give you in the beggining to win your trust. Like, think about this common pattern when it comes to predators - their victims are usually neglected children / children from harsh homes that didn't rceive the appropriate care and engagement from their parents - there for they're easy to manipulate and the chance of them telling that somthing bad is happening to them to their family member is low. Coraline obviously falls for thie, bacause what neglected kid would't until the predator - second mother tells her, that if she wants to experience more of these wonders she needs to sew buttons to her eyes. I believe it can be a metaphor for the predator demanding something for themselfes for the first time, it's the first time they show that nothing is really for free and they want an exchange for the attention etc. they give. When Coraline tries to get back to her world she realises that it's not longer possible - it can be another metaphot for predator starting to demand right when they realise you don't really have reseources to protect yourself and that they perfectly caught you in their trap - they either can blackmail you, threaten you or just manipulate by telling you that nobody will believe you anyway, that everyody will blame you and tell you the abuse was your own fault, that you asked for all of this etc. Next, when Coraline meet the ghosts of children they tell her that the second mother, just after they agreed to sew the buttons, locked them and ate their lives - for me its another metaphor for victims being abused to the point there is nothing more in their life than the abuse, the predator finally has proven that they never cared for the kid, all they ever cared for was their own needs and satisfaction. It can also be the point the victim kills themselves due to abuse being so severe they can no loger live with it, having no hope anyone will ever come for them and save them. That was a long one, that's why I'll let up on continuing my interpretation, if there's anyone who cared to read that far please tell me what you think by responding, in responds I'll gladly share my other thoughts and interpretations. For you Aaron, thanks for the video <3.

This movie came out in 2006 when I was whole a@@ adult of 27 years and I saw it and absolutely loved it. They did such a good job of telling a pretty simple story in such a wholesome, bitter sweet way. Love the lessons, love the characters and their personality. My favorite is Cheech Marin's low rider :). Go Cars!

1:20 THATS WHAT IM SAYING. While the plot and characters tear this movie apart, I can trick myself into being interested because the music POPS OFF. The scenes without the music would actually just be bottom tier awful. The music throughout the whole movie is pretty much the only reason I felt any emotion while watching jt

I couldn’t agree more with pretty much all of your opinions. As a fan of the original Cars movie, Cars 3 was ASS. I don’t understand how so many people liked it. Like you said, Cruz was so unlikeable and the ending was extremely unsatisfying as a result. The filler was bad too. One thing that was so great about the original Cars movie was that pretty much every scene served a purpose for the plot/narrative. Definitely can’t say the same about cars 3
