I am having issues with my OAG. No matter what I do I cant see stars. If I do they are distorted and will not focus. I have the ASI290mm mini with a ZWO OAG with a helical focuser. Can you help me? Thank you.

@@Twlight-Astrophotography first question is what scope are you using? Focus is normally the biggest issue and have you tried focusing during the day?

It’s a newer version of the Aperture 8” RC. My guide camera is a asi290mm mini.

Hi astronomer hope your doing fine. I have a problem with my heq5 mount. The pointing accuracy is horrible its way off. I do a 3 star alignment and the object still does not show up I. My eyepiece. My power voltage is 11.8 and my latitude is 40.7 my longitude is 82.55 this is in Westerville ohio. My elevation is -0271. I wrote to anyway her company and have not heard back
@Astrobloke12 күн бұрын
@@geoffnash3098 hi Geoff. Main things to check are that the location settings and date and time are correct, this can cause a lot of accuracy issues. The big advantage of astrophotography is the process of platesolving always perfectly centres the target. I would have thought it should get close enough with an eyepiece though.

Best collimation video I have seen (I have watched dozens) thanks ! Great work ! Simple, understandable and really visually nice. I just bought the Sky-Watcher Maksutov Newton 190 and I am planning to use the same.methodology, do you happen to know if that is the correct method also for an MN telescope?
@Astrobloke10 күн бұрын
Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I am very pleased the video was some help for you. That’s a lovely scope you have bought and will get you some great captures. The methodology as you rightly thought is exactly the same, the corrector plate on the front is the only difference to a standard Newtonian. That will be the coma corrector meaning you will not need to add one to the image train like I do for my scopes. Best of luck and clear skies

Hey Astrobloke, have you tried to do this effect on any other images yourself? I'm very fascinated by this effect and im trying to replicate it, however this guide personally feels a bit too quick and complex for a complete beginner so I was wondering if you might ever make a video on some other targets.
@Astrobloke19 күн бұрын
Hi and thank you for your message, I unfortunately soon after doing this project dropped Adobe and moved to Davinci Resolve. I just could not justify the cost of Adobe anymore. I need to try and emulate the same effect using Davinci now. I’m sorry I cannot help you further but Shivering cactus who was the after effects wizard on this is very approachable so send him a msg. Good luck, Glenn

Very cool final product, love star link zipping by, adds to the video.

Thanks Woody. I’m mixed about Starlink myself. It’s a spectacle to see when in their chain on the way to orbit but not happy with the amount of satellite trails streaking through my images every night I want to image. Frighteningly this is only the start as Amazon are launching Kuiper which is to rival Starlink with another 3K+ satellites in low orbit. They are slowly littering the night sky, sad.

Excellent video Glenn 👍 Love the Timelapse. I dragged my DLSR out on two occasions but the results were underwhelming. So low when it finally got dark enough the atmosphere was too murky.

@@Astrobloke Loving my observatory. More opportunities with partial clear nights where I wouldn’t have bothered to drag everything out and in again. Got one Mele Quieter 4c on the CEM120 pier with NINA but still getting up to speed with setup and advanced sequencer. Will try a test run soon. Have a TS ONTC 12” Newt being delivered very soon. So more setup. Will move onto an Arduino install after that for the roof. Getting there. Looking forward to showing you around when it is all complete.

Very nice Glen, amazing capture, you've really pulled this elusive comet out the bag, really like the setup, it's kinda what I'd like to do more of, light and portable with warm hands, like it🤣. 👍I'd like to fit a Sigma 70-200 1:2.8 Apo lens on my old Sony A58, would you be able to recommend an adapter for this, thanks Glen? Atb Tom..
@Astrobloke29 күн бұрын
Hi Tom and thank you. The MSM Nomad is a brilliant piece of kit. So simple to use to which is refreshing. The hand warmers are great . If the Sigma is an E mount I don’t think you can get anything to adapt to the A mount. Its has to do with the flange focal distance point, the adapter would need to be negative in thickness. A mount is 44.5mm and the E is only 18mm.
