Try the same rounds & loosen the stock screws , torque the screws to 7&1/2 inch pads , shoot ,10in pads shoot & go up 5 at a time to 35 & see what the best is . We did this with a savage & went from 1&3/4" groups to 3/8" groups at 50

If you want an accurate measurement from Center, to Center, measure one of the bullets you were shooting, then zero the caliper, and measure from edge to edge. Zeroing out the caliper with a bullet in it will give you a measure from center to center of each group.

You want it closer to the end of the barrel. Same as the limbsaver device start about inch and a half back and move until desired outcome.

Thanks for making the video! I've got the larger 5 station hornady reloader, but I haven't used it in a long time. I just wanted to see the process to remind myself of how to do it!

I shoot 125s, bullets touch in the group at 25 yards shot off sand bags. On my GP 100, I replaced the block-style front sight and replaced it with a beade-style of front sight and a v notch on the rear sight. This makes for a very fine hold on targets at extended ranges. 17.8g of H110 with any 125g Jacketed bullet with a cci 550 is very, very accurate at 1750-1800 fps. For goodness sakes, if you are shooting for accuracy, sort your brass by brand.

I don't have the highest standards, but if a .22 can't put 10 shots into 1 inch at 50 yards with even one kind of bulk ammo, it is not accurate and i am disappointed. Esp bolt actions. Then it's time to move it along. Thanks for sharing your journey though. I have had guns that just wouldn't shoot too.

This is too anal...I shoot for fun lite reloads in 38 sp and 357 in my 686+1 6in steel plates at 25 yards...red dot in revolver just doesn't seem right...but knock yourself out...!! 🙂 As I am certain a villan or threat will not care about your data... in the real world of course.!!

I notice you didn’t have a good cheek weld to the stock. Press your face into the stock so you aren’t orbiting around the ocular of the scope and your eye stays centered. If you don’t you’ll see poor results.

I loaded 18.4 grains of H-110 with 125 XTP Hornady bullets pretty strong load but my GP-100 handle it no problem but I think I’m going to back the load to17.9 h 110 also try accurate #9 works well to and don’t need as much

I've done 19 grains of H110. It had a great big boom, huge flash, and sounded like a 12 gauge, but only kicked a little harder than Factory Remington 125 grain SJHP loads. I was shooting it through my 4 inch Ruger SP101.

Kids need to go thru learning..Barrel harmonics is real BUT NOT ON 22 rimfire... What matters is quality of lot is AND VELOCITY.. Standard vel around 750 fps to 1150 fps 40 gr tip...Barrel length slowing velocity to 1150 est is better than any harmonics With a 22..Stabilizing bullet is key,,assuming action is screwed in with proper moderate to hard tightness..

I have the same rifle. Your just over thinking it. Mu group's started the same as yours. But after around 50 rounds the group's started closing up and now all of my group's are under 1". Don't clean it till this happens. I don't clean my 22s till around 250-300 fired. Its a learning process not a quiting process. My ruger likes cci standard. Good luck.

One other thing..., pull a bullet from a case, drive it down the barrel and mic it for its diameter (lands-to-lands). Manufacturer bore tolerance on .22LR can vary from .220 to .223. Then omitt any ammo brand that doesn't mic to AT LEAST match bores O.D.. The better the bullet seals the bore (larger O.D.) the more consistent accuracy tends to be. STANDARD velocity ammo is what competitors use also. Even try sub-sonic ammo. Some rifles are sensitive to "trans-sonic transition". After that headspacing for "jump" can /may improve grouping. It all depends on what you're attempting to achieve.....

Did this model of RAP .223 come with AR mag and mag release from the factory? or is it the older ones with the flush fit rotary? I was wondering how the current AR mag versions works around aftermarket stocks like this.

If you want a bit of weight up front & You don't have threads, go on E-Bay & order a muzzle brake of some type for that rifle. They come in steel & aluminum. Sometime these help with a bit of weight up front to rid of vibrations. I would not be happy with that rifle the way you have it shooting even with cheap ammo.

Back in the mid to late 70 ruger put out some good guns and now they just put out lots of guns and they won't shoot the truth is quantity not quality as is the same thing with for instance some of the other companies like savage it is hard to find us quality anymore and that's a fact and also a shame that you have to go outside the good old usa to get a good rifle this is just my opinion enough said shoot well and have a good day.
