I never liked the spyro games, however I loved this game. It's so cool, all the combo's the special elements, loved how cynder had elements that aren't the basic dragon shoots fire like spyro.

I've been saying it for years, that this game is gonna flop the moment when they're delaying this game for like 2 times now, but none of my gaming friends actually listened to me And they literally made a grave mistake of deciding it to be an always online slop in the light of The Crew 1 is getting the servers going offline for good, like I seriously couldn't trust a company of their caliber could maintain the servers for a very long time, let alone this "offline patch" they're promised by the time they're done with this game (th are they, Polyphony Digital?)

ngl, I thought this was gonna be a deep dive on Cynder's character, being stolen from her home, then transformed into a monstrous puppet for around a decade killing hundreds if not thousands, and when she's eventually freed, she seems...oddly fine after learning of what she had gone through.

Very nice Video! XXL 2 was along with Jak and Daxter my favourite PS2 game. I think it is the most polished one of the 3. I also started with speedrunning these two games. That was fun!

As someone who finished Arthur and the Invisibles, I can tell you it's a long sluggish game with many dangerous (unfair even) sections you can easily have an instadeath in, with an addition of quick time events too, and that's something I don't want to play ever again. My only motivation to finish it was testing someone's widescreen mod to ensure it wasn't game-breaking.

Oh, I'm so happy that after our last quick talk you went towards making a full video about this! I've barely started but I want to comment now about why "Strange Dragonflies": the name of the studio was made out of lyric of a french song, "Volutes" by Alain Bashung (1991). Just for the trivia! And yes, buggy Sparks is... universal. At least not on 7th gen hardware. Vos luttes partent en fumée (your efforts turn to smoke) Sous les yeux embués (under the foggy eyes) D'étranges libellules (of stranges dragonflies) 5:33 Back in the day my older sister didn't even know combos were a damn thing and finished the game without, somehow. Speedrunners like me can somewhat manage. The opening 1000 can be dispatched by hand in 17 minutes. Still, yeah of course combos drain some of the bar on usage, so you can do them infinitely without recharging. And yes, it should make the enemy numbers go down while under a tornado, it's capable of defeating enemies that are off screen basically! 17:23 FUUUUN Fact, the cart you see here was the very first item the devs picked from the PS2 version to start bumpmapping for the x360 release, literally the first "next-gen" touched up asset. 18:59 I love how you accidentally did the dash glitch off these crates, when speedrunners actually do that on the bags just ahead to completely skip the entire "3 torches" door and its minigames. I'll conclude with this last edit, it would be fantastic to have a long chatter with you about general things XXL/Spyro in terms of engine quirks, developer insights and other things you might not know. If you look for my nickname on Discord, my DMs are open, there's lots we could share. I'm also at the TLoS speedrun discord and Mod the Dragon, I'm having fun explaining dragon-heads my understanding of DotD based on the predecessor games.

I feel like at least this much is worth saying here: It's not that I wasn't curious about what sort of dark, forbidden knowledge you may possess, but a combination of me deciding to go for more of a "first impressions after an as-blind-as-possible playthrough based on knowing the things I do about mechanics and assets from DOTD and HTTYD" style of retrospective and my social anxiety going "let's not get any more people tied up in these projects than is absolutely necessary, for a whole host of reasons" meant that I never got around to it. With all that said, of f***ing course me making a joke about how that cart was "next-gen" only in DOTD is coincidentally developer trivia about it also being the first asset to be made for Olympic Games next-gen. I swear, the amount of times I accidentally my way into something like that..

Maybe you got that, but that's gonna depend on how you read the second half. Sure, you could read that as a "you do you, and that's okay as long as you know what to expect from doing that"-type speech. Or you could read it like my brain chose to interpret it. Context matters. Bonus points for this sort of discussion happening in the comments of *this very video, specifically*.

I don't know how or if this is something you'd ever want to sit down and watch yourself, even though it's your own thoughts.

Because if it's the former, I'm aware but incapable of taking this KZbin thing anywhere near serious enough to be all that bothered beyond "yeah, this is probably good enough", and if it's the latter, it's part of the joke.

I'd say the editing is funny but you shouldn't crank up the volume so mich when doing a suurprise cut like the one at 3:14 . Also a better mic shouldn't be that much of an investment. I think you can get the absolut classic Rode NT-USB for less than 100 bucks.

So there's been an update to this demo. I'm not sure if I want to game The Algorithm by making another video on it, so I'll just summarize my thoughts here: - Downshifting has been adjusted so that one click on the downshift button equals one downshift. This good. - Brakes have been tweaked, and it does feel like they don't lock up as easily. It might not be perfect, but it feels good. Maybe still a tad bit too effective, but I don't know how much of that is just my "finger feel" seeing this game and applying CMR2.0 mode. It is now the high-B level game I figured it could be. And since I consider B tier to be for "games that I like", that's not bad at all. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

What I'm learning from this video is not so much that some people are incapable of their favourite wannabe-AAA developer getting any sort of criticism (I've known that since The V-Rally 4 Incident), but that they could really stand to learn how to take a fucking joke. That, or they find Bigtyme too relatable, in which case this video just evolved into a handy acid test. Do keep all the dislikes and "but how can you tell a game is good if you haven't played it at 60 FPS, huh?!? I don't care that that's a pipe dream for everything but the beefiest Gamer Stations(tm)" comments coming. All you're doing is feeding my Engagement.

crew 1 was so fun when it was active then they made an update to improve the graphics aswell. way better than crew 2 i think its one of the last open world racers to have cops apart from nfs

I concur. The game is absolute trash ! The acceleration and gear change physics are terrible... The graphics are aids on my 4k HDR monitor with RTX 4090...

It's not even that. The game being unoptimized at this point is one thing - non-final version and all that. That's fair enough. Physics being some amount of weird is something you can get used to if you really want. It's funny in a bad way that cars occasionally behave as if they've been hit with the boopy gun, but it's also not really a worthwhile feature. It's more so the part where it's always online, and on top of that doesn't have beefy enough servers, meaning you have to wait (sometimes an hour or more) just to get to the main menu. Even if the base game itself was perfect, someone's made the executive decisions to make it always-online. That they've seemingly also decided to steal models from TDU2 on top of all this is just comedic genius to me.

The essence of the game was a good offline story-mode that would take you hours, now with this always online feature is a stupid and retarded decision typical of French developers

As someone who's spent way too much of the past few years deep diving french-developed video games, it's not so much that I'd say they typically make "stupid and retarded" decisions - they do, however, make weird ones. Ones that either somehow make a game far more of a banger than it has any right to, or leave you questioning what sort of euphorics were making their way around the office. TDU1 being a full-size Oahu is one of the former "weird" decisions. TDU2 woman physics are of the latter. Branching out of racing games (and teasing the next vad) for a second, there's the character switching in Asterix XXL 2 (good weird) only for Olympic Games to include that feature, but really only make use of it in one section (bad weird). In a way, Solar Crown feels poor to me in part because it doesn't feel french enough. The base game is too safe, with all the usual AAA failings on top. Online-only, multiple premium editions.. Then again, this is KT "Minimum Effort, Maximum Nostalgia Bait" Racing we're talking about, so I'm not entirely sure why I'm acting surprised.
