Let me guess: many became Muslims and were Arabized, the ones from Aquitaine and Languedoc eventually became French, a handful led the formation of Asturias. One of them, known as "el Rubio" ("the Blond", can't remember his name right now) migrated to the Basque borderlands and founded the houses of Ayala and Salcedo, the latter is in my ancestry.

The Roman’s became heavily penetrated by the so called barbarians, just because they were of a different cultural background, they migrated into Rome looking for survival and prosperity but never fully integrated into Roman society even though they achieved positions inside government and some became rich citizens, but they never had Rome interest at heart (any similarities with today’s times?).

@@isabellazia9040 Ukrainian didn't consider Odoacr German. Odoacr was King of ruggies. Anna of Kiev considered as Princess of ruggies. In Slavic origin of Ukrainians no doubts. But no one can say exactly about origin of Slavs. In Ukrainian Slava means Glory and all Slavic languages are Indo-Iranian although Slovenia and Czehia languages have strong German influences in my opinion.
