This video and these comments make me feel so vindicated about my frustrations with this guide. I didn't have internet at home for like another year after this came out. I felt ripped off by this guide. I paid for content and got "Go to Play Online" which I couldn't even do!

Interestingly 32Bit, I enjoy the Nintendo 64. In the beginning of the life span of the console, I thought it was the greatest technological invention that Nintendo created. However as time went on, I was starting to have doubts seeing the limitations it was having due to being a cartridge base system in the mid-90's onwards. Soon after, I was looking at what Sony was offering with the Playstation, and I understood way Nintendo was losing ground. Of course the Playstation is far from perfect seeing it was during the time when CD based technology in the 90's was choppy and not refined like it was during the Playstation 2 era.But seeing what can be done from the transition from Cartridge to CD certainly had its benefits and help make the PlayStation a winner over the N64 in the category....and a lot of other things as well. Anyway, great video as always 32Bit. Always a pleasure seeing you in action and glad you have Pokemon Stadium and Mario Kart 64 in the collection. I have them as well bro. 8^) Anthony..

I am the complete opposite from you for this one. I adore my N64 and its library. Even nowadays during Game Night on Tuesday's, my friends and I play it all the time. My system is the one from my childhood and so are most of my games. Never owned a GameCube back then and even though I like it very much nowadays and have a decently solid library for it I don't hold it anywhere near the same level as my N64. In fact, if I were forced to sell most of my collections for any reason, my N64 would be one of the systems I would choose to keep if I were able to and the GameCube would probably be one of the first of the Nintendo consoles I have that I would consider letting go of first. The Wii U is most likely the only console I'd get rid of before the GameCube. I think the reason for this is that most games that I would want to play on a GameCube other than Nintendo published ones are available and would play better on an Xbox which I did have at the time. This is honestly made me see the GameCube as a bit overrated for collecting these days so my library for it is quite a bit smaller than my other ones. Would you ever consider selling any parts of your N64 stuff? Since this is mostly your childhood stuff I wouldn't be surprised if you said no, but I would love an opportunity to repair and refurbish that N64 console. I know you said it was an accident from many years ago but it honestly makes me sad looking at it like that. 😥

The Nintendo 64... Never had one as a kid, always wanted one (got my first EVER for Christmas a couple years ago!) Early 3D hasn't aged as well as later systems, but it doesn't matter - I still love playing Banjo-Kazooie, Mario Party, Goldeneye and Mario Kart. I really want to try Conker's Bad Fur Day! 😂 Really cool collection you've got!! Racing games are so much fun, even now with MK8 Deluxe, Gran Turismo, and CTR Nitro Fueled! Shame that retro games from this era are so expensive now, i really want to pick up more! Did you compose the jazz that plays in the background? Or is it just some sort of free to use stuff? Always nice to hear that in the background!

I was in prison from 2009 to 2011. We were allowed personal items, and although I was only there for a short time, we were given similar privileges as lifers. One of them was being able to have a gaming console as long as it had no internet capabilities - so our options were at best N64 and PS1. I opted for PS1 and my brother who really showed he was my best friend sent me the console along with several classic RPGs . Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross , and all FF games including FFIX. He was even nice enough to get me the strategy guides for most games. While not the main nor only reason for my rehabilitation, you can say that the frustration from using the guide for FFIX made me never want to be in that situation again.

I had (still have) this guide. It was so infuriating and so much is left out. When FF9 was re-released I replayed it using a Gamefaq. My god it felt like I missed at least 1/3 of the game, especially in the sidequest sector, with my original playthroughs. I hated that strategy guide! Sidenote: I love that the guy who restored PlayOnline's site is named Justin Bailey. For those elderly gamers like me, that grew up w/ NES Metroid, that name is forever seared into memory.

You came across some really great deals for so many cool games - its funny how similar our taste in games are, if I could afford to collect like this I would absolutely get very similar things 😂 Do you have a way to play them all (aside from the Xbox)? You must have a WILD setup!! Shame about the Metaphor Collector's - mine was thankfully not ripped, but my collector's of Unicorn Overlord was. I actually got a lot of the same newer games as you haha - but my backlog monster is waiting as I work through Metaphor 😂 Really cool to see you keep mentioning VGP and PNP, my two favourite places to get games from. I live not too far from PNP Retail and its always so dangerous to go in haha! Awesome as always 😎 PS: The Persona 3 Reload soundtrack is amazing, and I bet it sounds incredible on vinyl!! My older brother had that stupid fucking guide AND he signed up for the online service, which if I remember correctly went down only a few years after the game came out. It's not like the guide contains a total dearth of useful information, as I was able to do plenty of sidequests and whatnot with its aid, but there's just no good reason to pay for a strategy guide TWICE.
