take the 2 mounting screw off that hold your trigger on. Submerge the assembly in 91% alcohol overnight and it will dissolve the epoxy on the main adjustment screw that lines up with the hole in the trigger guard. Remove that blinded off screw which is now a stud thanks to savage and replace it with a crew that has a head and you're in business. the screw which has the screw driver slot in it can adjust the trigger pull weight but the blinded screw is the one meant to by ATA. If you adjust the one with the screw head to far the rifle will fire with the safety on. if you ignore this and adjust that one anyway don't go past 2 full turns and your safety will still work. ALL the newer ones have a blinded adjustment screw not just epoxy

Mine wouldn't shoot under an inch with 5 different factory ammo's. I free floated it today and glass bedded it as well I removed the trigger assembly and it's soaking in 91 percent alcohol to remove the resin epoxy that prevents the adjustment of the trigger . Savage has the main adjustment blinded off but i'm going to remover it after the epoxy is broken down all the way and replace the screw with one that has a head and it'll surely do better, the factory trigger was 6 pounds and creepy as heck

You need a torque tool that important for accuracy start out at 50 inch pounds and work you way up at five inch pounds. Then check and see it it hold steady. You may need to add some thread lock to the action screws. When you tighten the action screws hole the rifle pointing up a couple of light bumps then tighten the action screws that help to keep the recoil lug in the right place. Adjust that trigger as light you can get it. You can adjust your grip don't rap it around but put your thumb at rest raping around your steering the rifle. Two touching then a flier sounds like a bedding problem. If the bottom end is plastic the part the action screws go through that is not good. Magpul is plastic but where the action screws go through is metal bushing. That for the 700 savage I am not sure.

You're comparing it to rounds that don't have the capability of being fired from an AR15 with a double stacked magazine, that in theory could have a capacity of 20-30rds if someone made mags. The .400 is significantly more powerful that .350 Leg and unlike .450 Bush, .458 Socom or .50Beo which are only single stack in an AR15 it can go double. The Turkey's Opinion ran a hand loaded 165gr maximus solid from a 16" barrel and got 2783f/s 2837ft/lbs compared to a .308 24" 168gr BTHP running 2650f/s 2619ft/lbs. Perhaps the .400Leg is not being marketed correctly. I see it as being 10mm Ultra Magnum and the meanest high capacity AR15 footprint round for 300yrds or less. It's a real shame that the rifles and the magazines and the rounds have not materialized.

Yes, it's a shame that progress seems to have stalled and nothing is hitting the market. You're right that if they don't get people into this round quick that it could fade away. The potential seems astronomical because of the potential power, double stack capacity and compact AR15 platform. I already have a 6.5 Grendel for longer ranges and the odds of me engaging anything over 300yrds is almost zero so I could use .400 Legend as my only AR.

The 350 Legend has become so popular that I’m not sure people want to replace it with a 400. Obviously, it has more recoil, too. Also, there is competition from 360 Buckhammer, too (this may be minimal, but nonetheless). Then 450 Bushmaster etc. I agree that the 400 Legend has an uphill battle.
