@toddl3682 I'm sorry bud. The day I was filming the range video for the 280AI was the day before Hurricane Helene hit us. Been crazy for awhile as work for water authority. I lost that data over time and my wife cleaning the gun room. I was at the range today for a round of retesting the 280 AI. I will try to get that video out soon. Thanks for watching and commenting. @toddl3682 I know it's killing you to know. I'll give you the numbers. 4 types of factory ammo so far. The Nosler 140 gr. I believe it was the Balistic tip equivalent. While I'm still shooting the factory 3x9 Vortex crossfire BDC that came with it. Out 4 different groups tested so far they have all been less than 1.1 inches. probably about a 15/16 inch average (I didn'thave my calipers with me) with the Federal ascent 155gr coming in 2nd. With roughly a 1.1 inches average.

Of the two, I'd go with the 338 Win. because it is a better all around cartridge and the ammo is more widely available and varied. For some reason the 375 Ruger never caught on while the 375 H&H still rules. But the 375 H&H requires a magnum length action which is more expensive which is its main disadvantage. So put me in the 338 Win. club.

I'm sorry but I/m going to be a bit harsh. Did you torque all of your mounting screws? Did you torque your stock screws? Your shooting rest sucks as did your bench shooting techniques. I prefer a bipod and shooting off of the ground. Either that, or an actual heavy pedestal rest. Invest in some scope mounting tools and a quality set of rings and bases. I've noticed that a lot of KZbin contributors get a fine shooting rifle but mount garbage optics and hardware on their rifles. A good scope should run at least twice the price of the rifle. Leupold, Vortex and Night Force make real scopes. Everything else is bargain basement. Yes, I may be a snob when it comes to equipment and knowing your craft.

You need to invest in a scope rail so you can better adjust rings because that one is a little too close to end of the tube. I believe the company that makes everything for savage is EGW also I found Winchester super x is grouping sub 1/2” in 5 shots and they are really doing great with the deer as well. Something I’ve found with my 7mm-08 is that ammo selection is very crucial because with the speed of the rounds I’ve had several that wouldn’t open up much and it led to long tracks and I also felt bad for the animal that it wasn’t working well enough. The Remington core loks you had are good too but I couldn’t get those Hornadys to group as well.

I see very little need for the 400L. However, just like the 350L, ammo was scarce at first, but it's gotten so popular now that there are many companies loading for it. I just don't see the 400 making waves when the 350L and the 450BM that's offered in either bolt or AR platform can do what's needed and the 360 gets the lever gun out in the straight walled only woods if one wants more than a pistol caliber.

The 400 Legend will be another failed cartridge because it can't compete with the 350 Legend. It was a waste of time and resources because the industry is clueless about what the shooting market wants.

take the 2 mounting screw off that hold your trigger on. Submerge the assembly in 91% alcohol overnight and it will dissolve the epoxy on the main adjustment screw that lines up with the hole in the trigger guard. Remove that blinded off screw which is now a stud thanks to savage and replace it with a crew that has a head and you're in business. the screw which has the screw driver slot in it can adjust the trigger pull weight but the blinded screw is the one meant to by ATA. If you adjust the one with the screw head to far the rifle will fire with the safety on. if you ignore this and adjust that one anyway don't go past 2 full turns and your safety will still work. ALL the newer ones have a blinded adjustment screw not just epoxy

Mine wouldn't shoot under an inch with 5 different factory ammo's.
