"So much baggage for such a small cast" should be the tagline for this show.

I love your reaction videos so much! You pick up a lot of little things that i love about epic that i dont see a lot of people recognize! Also the official animatics are so good, but the one for god games is top tier! Idk if youve seen any of them but Jorge has worked with some artists and sent reference videos for the poses and actions in animatics for the last few sagas (idk if he did for the earlier ones too)

Saw it last week and went into it pretty sceptical of the art direction, as a huge fan of the show. Was leaving absolutely blown away and crying. Went back right the next day, since I was in London only for a bit and luckily got a returned ticket and an amazing seat too. Truly such a wonderful production.

I love watching you react to musicals lol! This was one of my favs from long ago. Houdini was also very much chosen because of the immigrant connection too. A very public successful immigrant figure.

What i think is most interesting is how this i all one continuous timeling because the cyborg in the future who created the time travel and the the evaporation pen and if he doesnt go back to 2004 he doesnt make himself passout and his youngerself ralks to her so the resaults of the time travel create the reason the begining of the loop happens

I love seeing people only listen to a musical's soundtrack and guessing the plot. I need to see someone do that with Dear Evan Hansen. Edit: I found out they have a video watching Dear Evan Hansen. I'll watch that after this. I hope they'll do or did Fly By Night and Ordinary Days. My other 3rd and 4th favorite musicals. Heathers used to be 3rd, but it reminds me of my ex now, :(. But DEH is still my favorite because even though Sincerely, Me reminds me of my ex because we sang it together, it still comforts me, I love Evan. And 3r Questions quickly grew to be my second favorite because of my recent break-up.

*grins evilly* You should watch crazy ex girlfriend.... it's an amazing series. It takes a while to pay off and isn't so SFW sometimes but it's absolutely hysterical. I think it's the most hilarious musical thing I've ever seen... and it's also absolutely brilliant. you'll love it. You could just watch clips, but watching the full series is the best for context and you can film reactions to just the songs when you pop on.

Anyways I’d never seen &Juliet before and I don’t normally like Jukebox musicals but this one was so much fun. I think the way it incorporated the songs was super clever and I loved Anne!! (Best girl.) All the cast were awesome and I hope you had a great time! 💜

Here's an excerpt I like from the original RAGTIME novel by E.L. Doctorow, about Harry Houdini and Sigmund Freud: "...Houdini never developed what we think of as a political consciousness. He could not reason from his own hurt feelings. To the end he would be almost totally unaware of the design of his career, the great map of revolution laid out by his life. He was a Jew. His real name was Erich Weiss. He was passionately in love with his ancient mother whom he had installed in his brownstone home on West 113th Street. In fact Sigmund Freud had just arrived in America to give a series of lectures at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and so Houdini was destined to be, with Al Jolson, the last of the great shameless mother lovers, a nineteenth-century movement that included such men as Poe, John Brown, Lincoln and James McNeill Whistler. Of course Freud’s immediate reception in America was not auspicious. A few professional alienists understood his importance, but to most of the public he appeared as some kind of German sexologist, an exponent of free love who used big words to talk about dirty things. At least a decade would have to pass before Freud would have his revenge and see his ideas begin to destroy sex in America forever."

This was a good performance but don't deprive yourself of listening to the obc recordings as well. Specifically Wheels of a Dream, Your Daddy's Son, and Back to Before are some of the greatest recordings in existence by the incomparable Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, and tragically late Marin Mazzie.

Nicely done. The book it is based on was so sprawling. They did a great job finding the musical in it. I got a bit weepy. Always do with Ragtime. The original production helped make Audra McDonald the amazing star she is.

I love Ragtime and this reaction was so fun to watch!!! If you haven’t listened to “[title of show]” or “Now. Here. This.”, they’re both written by the same people and they’re both underrated gems. I think you’d have a really fun time reacting to them! They’re about the process of creating truthful art and the small moments throughout our lives that shape who we are as individuals, respectively.

Lmao sorry I just realized that my comment is kind of misleading. The two shows I mentioned have the same writers as each other, but not the same as Ragtime.

M glad you discovered Ragtime, but i wish you had seen a better production. Ragtime is one of those musicals that need a lot of experienced singers for it to soar. This musical always sounds amazing in a concert setting.

There's so much I can say about Ragtime. Like how the musical is really the last third of the original book, or how the historical figures play a big part in the book. I could even mention how the only original characters who are given names outside of their relationship to others are Coalhouse and Sarah (Tateh is yiddish for Father). Or that in the movie Tateh is played by Mandy Patinkin (George in Sunday in the park with George, as well as Inigo Montoya in Princess Bride).I won't say all of that, I will say this show, and the book it is based on is the story of America.
