Oddly, its the Bandai kits of the T.I.E fighters that are larger, while here in the X-Wings and the Y-Wings, its The fine molds that are a bit larger.

Interesting topic. What do you like more about the Metricks than the xray - does it drive more easily for you (faster or more consistent) or is it just easier to access the parts of the car to work on ? Thanks.

Good question! For now it’s cost. Ease of use and parts if needed. Also an updated platform. I’m still getting used to it. It’s very active on the track. Practiced a lot today and club race tomorrow so we will see if I can pick up from last weeks times.

Man... I bought a carpet knife last year and never actually ran it bc I was super new and couldn't even get around the track with a rental Traxxas car. Everyone has been racing for years and as fun as it was building. I totally suck at carpet racing 😢. I like the idea of rubber tires that you don't have to true... That was another big limiter for me actually spending time racing.

Love this content!!! Glad I found ya! Local track in my area does Friday night carpet onroad, multiple classes. The TT02 spec there is GT Pro Spec. Based on Tamiya’s championship series ruleset. Which also allows fluid CVAs. I decided to covert my rally back to onroad and am excited to give it a go. 21.5 brushless also. Looking for spec tips brought me here and glad it did! Looking forward to your other TT02 vids for sure. And thank for posting it all for us. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas!!! 😁😎👍🏁

its very easy and ive showed this in a few videos. just remove the 4 small bolts for the bumper under the car and the 2 bolts that go straight down from the top. pull off the bumper and then remove the diff cover by removing its 4 bolts. use the LOSI exploded parts view manual on their website for reference.

Try more pinion and open that line up to almost the outside wall. 25.5 may not turn the rpms but it should have plenty of torque for taller gearing. Seems like you're pinching off the corners, staying too close to the inside pipe on the straights and it sounds like it's bogging coming back out. I can't remember my rollout numbers without digging out old notebooks, but I ran a 21.5, 1s class and a budget RJ speed spec mod class with photon 2 brushed motors years ago and they both liked a lot of pinion and a really wide line on the straights. With less turns it's even more important to keep the car freed up and carry corner exit speed. I've not heard you mention motor temp, but if it's not warm, it can probably handle some more gear.
@Dorkyand407 күн бұрын
awesome thanks. it seems like the bigger spur and pinion the better it was and then id drop a spur tooth to pick up if it was fading too much. the thing really corners too well and ive beenn working on dropping more dual rate and maybe even running a slower servo speed then i have been. i came back strong and TQ and won and set a PB at the club track this week so i was happy about that :)
@einstiensrocks7 күн бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 Nice!! Congrats man! Can't wait to see some footage. You'll find a sweet spot between the pinion, spur and tire size, a final roll out number it's happiest with. Motor heat and lap times will let you know. Just be careful and not throw too much at it at once and cook the motor. Ask me why I say this.... lol. I think I'd keep your fast servo, just adjust the D/R and expo, I run about 20% D/R and 10% expo on my radio with a scramble D/R override button if I need max throw. If it feels like it's hooking the corner more as the race day goes, I only have to apply a thin strip (1/4-3/8" front, 1/2-3/4" rear) of traction sauce to the left side of the foams just because it gets built up in the track the more heats and races ran and it keeps it from getting too tight or hooking too much. If you have a little time before the race, you could position a cam in the corner to make sure it's not rolling over too much on the front tire too.

short tracks like mine i like 72 and then 30-28 pinion. give good throttle control and all the power you may need. larger tracks you can either go up in pinion or down to a 69 spur and play with pinions. check out my latest B7 videos for track size comparison

Alright Chad, NASCAR Dude here took your advice and jumped in; I can now talk intelligently about about these cars. Up front, the Kit is the real deal and comes with everything you need to start racing - the one I received has no issues, sorry about your luck Pal! Much respect for your perseverance. The Good: the car does not want to turn, does not want to accelerate and does not want to stop - that pretty much sums up driving a true Stock Car - we can check-off that box. It does respond to small changes - all race cars must respond in a predictable manner to changes and this car does that, check that box. I play with mine in the street in front of the house; it is stupid how much fun you can have anywhere with these cars. The Bad: real Goodyear Racing Eagle's are amazing tires - but these ain't them. There is no one-size-fits all in racing tires, but these come damn close to it. They work on about any surface, but they are not good on any of them. Losi has checked that box for a Stock Car for us; the tire has no inter-sidewall. The Ugly: it like racing 'Little Red Wagons' having your older brothers push you - there is zero adjustment in the chassis for the four corners. And then there is Spectrum, which I won't get into. We all can think of a number of improvements, but need support in the parts department - by hook or crook. Conclusion: out of the box fun! a home run. I don't care what people agree on, but I find the car left wanting. I will play along until the fun runs out of it. Chuck
@MX30410 күн бұрын
Also a LOT of variance speed wise out of the box. We ran three cars right out of the box with three of our best drivers running rotating between them. There was over a half second / lap difference between the cars. That would be several laps difference between them on our track / mains length.

@@MX304 Thanks for the reply; there is no bad info! I took mine apart before I drove it and put put a test setup in it, and the car drove as expected -like total crap. Looked at what the tires were doing, thru a big change at it and 90% of the ill went away. I ain't done thinking about or testing it, but when a car reacts to a purposeful change like this did - there is a lot more here. And mine is out of the box too.
