I would work on unbinding the suspension, cleaning up the diffs, and playing with the fluids. You could also see what can be trimmed off or sanded down to just function better. Your on the right track though. One thing that works well for stock racing with brushed motors is to run it in distilled water to break it in and get those brushes formed and free up some speed. Same for the bearings, cleaning them up and oiling them really helps.

Oval never seems to catch on and have staying power as a club racing class. We tried running Legends cars with stock motors in oval several years ago but nobody stuck with it.

We have a big oval scene around northeast Ohio. Our track especially. My main class is sportsmen tour truck.

I'm new to R/C and never raced until 2 weeks ago. I'm supposed to trust the "Regulars" at the local track that they aren't using the upgraded parts you can't see without taking the whole car apart? Paid $25 for race day and got completely smoked! I understand why now! Pretty crazy how your attitude towards these cars have changed in such a short time. Your 1st video is what sent me to the Hobby store!
@Dorkyand402 ай бұрын
Yes. I was very excited by the car and hoped it would bring new racers to the track. I am working on the car as we speak to try to find out what can be done to help. If you see my videos then you see that I a seasoned rc racer has got smoked too. I actually share and help everyone at the track and have in turn made some people faster than me in other classes. Hopefully we can figure this out.

Have you tried using graphite dry powder as a lubricant in all of the steering parts? It used for pinewood derby cars.

Can you show us how to use a tire warmer? Like is there a way to plug one into the wall instead of w.e the plug is they come with?
@Dorkyand402 ай бұрын
With some soldering you can always make anything work. Just find out the warmers requirements and cut the end off to whatever you’re looking to use.
@WeAreG.A.M.E2 ай бұрын
@Dorkyand40 so if i get like the spektrum tire warmer i can just solder the household 12v plug to it and it should be good?

I find that after you take a hit during a race, whether it be with a car or the wall, the servo saver doesn’t recenter itself properly. I’ve tried tightening and that makes it worse or vice versa running it loose. I haven’t found a happy medium.
@Dorkyand402 ай бұрын
I only tested with a servo on the bench. I’m gong to replace it with a different one and see how that goes
@ThreeD19822 ай бұрын
I wouldn't rule out the servo, but I think its the servo saver itself. I'm going to pin or glue mine or try a solid arm. Its the one thing I think should be an option for us to change, but it goes against the “box stock”.

Our track for nascar onroad average lap times are 10 sec. Lower 10 secs. Once you get into the groove i was able to run consecutive 9.3 laps. An i hit walls hard. Maybe just be the car wearing in from new an everythings starting to get to that normal loose spot
@Dorkyand40Ай бұрын
I think that has a lot to do with it. Seems like just keeping up on shocks has been the best thing.
@wallydavidАй бұрын
Help me understand. You slammed the wall hard and after that, your steering was off. Did you check out the steering after or did you just leave it alone or check it out? You had the car running great and you smacked the wall and then magically the car is crap. I guess that everyone at the three tracks at which we run these all have unicorns.

giving up on mine as well i have thrown everything at it servo,bellcranks ,shims, esc, high end futaba radio aluminum servo horn and still pulls left or right whenever er it feels like it it’s a poor design on the bellcrank that causes this issue too many different pivot points in the wrong places.

Question, I haven't been able to get one of these in stock anywhere yet so I can't answer this myself. Is it possible to flip the rear right suspension arm or carrier to invert the toe in to toe out? If you could flip the right rear arm and gain some rear steer that would help a ton for oval speed. Obviously it would not be "box stock" anymore, but I am curious if that is even doable on this chassis.
@Dorkyand40Ай бұрын
I don’t think so. The inside pins for the top and bottom arms are different lengths and one is secured by the different cover and one the rear bumper assembly. Then you got these track owners using magnifying glasses to check things. If you’re not racing a box stock class then I’d say get some 2.5mm rod and cut and make it happen
@UnrivaledPiercerАй бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 Could you not just flip the lower arm if it's flat? Looking at pictures it looks like the rear toe is molded into the arms. The upper arm doesn't seem to need to be flipped. Though all I can go by is what I can find online for pictures, so I apologize if that's still wrong. I was just curious if there was a quick and dirty way to tune some rear steer into the car with the stock parts.
@Dorkyand40Ай бұрын
@ I will sure look at it tomorrow. You’re on to something there sir. I had read steer arms on my b6 street stock.
@UnrivaledPiercerАй бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 Awesome, let me know how it works out or if you can find another quick and dirty way without major mods. My local track is fairly lenient on rules. Not to say they would even allow rear steer in a stock class, but in a "stock parts only" class, they probably would. We definitely have people running Traxxas oval cars with rear steer mods and buggy street stock with rear steer too. So it's not like its alien to everyone, I just don't have access to a Losi NASCAR right now and was curious. Thanks for checking it out tomorrow for me. Good luck man!
@UnrivaledPiercerАй бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 I had a chance to take a closer look at the chassis the other day and noticed that if you flip the arm you can't mount the shock. Since the shock mount hole would be on the wrong side of the arm. However something else that I am curious about now is what about running two left rear arms? Because if you flip the rear left arm top to bottom the shock mount would be on the same side but the toe direction would flip. I THINK the rear arms are flat, yes? The rear toe angle looks to be about 3 degrees. So if you ran two left arms you should have 3 degrees of rear steer. Might be almost perfect for crabbing around corners. Care to give it a try if you have an extra set of rear arms?
@gearhead7622 ай бұрын
Stiffen up the right front. Try that... spring mainly not oil.
@Dorkyand402 ай бұрын
Def have already ran that for oval. Kinda a starting point. Still way too many other issues for one tire to overcome.
@gearhead7622 ай бұрын
@@Dorkyand40 i can see where it may be hard to set that thing up as it doesnt appear to have as much front end adjustability as a dedicated oval car might have. It seems like more of a just for fun car than a race chassis.
