Can you make one I can mount in the ceiling or wall for 80-240v AC. I really don't like cables all over my room, having this sensor in my ceiling would be awesome.

I got the old one. Bunch of problems. Some kind of fails all the time. Jammed notifications when it fails to open the door. I changed my whole lock system for this because the engine is not strong enough to turn and old lock system and it opens very slow. So far I think YALE has the best system and it doesn't even need a hub system. It comes with it in the device so directly wifi connection. And such a strong engine it has , opens the door very quickly. So my advice is YALE as a switchbot owner.

I'm thinking about this method because with Nabu I'm losing my access from time to time, but I'm not able to figure out why this is more secure than port forwarding with letsencrypt. You are simply relaying the cert (or maybe not), and the DNS management to cloudflare, but the frontend is still exposed in the same way.

I’m here 4 mos after this video dropped. I purchased this remote on a whim thinking software updates would fix it. By and large everything mentioned as a bug has been fixed. The remote syncs well, works as advertised. But. Setup is a pain. Matter is still stupidly employed here. It was truly one of the kludgiest smart home device setups I’ve done. And still, only those four buttons work. Luckily, they do work well in home assistant with scenes. The IR is ok. It’s a pain in the butt to learn some AC units and TVs, but it works, mostly. Anyway, I definitely do NOT recommend this remote to anyone looking.

I would appreciate if someone can help. I canno seem to setup the light and temperature to show at the home screen. The moment I select the mushroom light entity card I am not given an option to edit secondary information but I can only pick amongst some options. At the same time, if I chose mushroom custom card, it will not give me the option to use light color so I will not get visual feedback when turning on and switching off the lights. Anyone have a solution that incorporates both?

I use the DutchDeveloper BL LED unit on mine can do all this independently or via home automation. Interesting to see a new way of powering it though. Thanks

I think I found something viewers should know. I'm not a networking expert so please don't shoot me if I'm wrong. My router does support loop-back, so theoretically, I could stop there. I mean, I have reached "Single-URL goodness". But what happens if I lose my internet connection? Will I not have difficulty connecting to Home Assistant since the DNS servers aren't available? Will push notifications to the companion app come through? My testing brought up these issues. I installed Dndmasq and that seemed to solve those issues. As long as you don't have any internet issues, I think you are okay without Dnsmasq and the DNS update to your router.

Hi i have a question : I'm running HA on a Proxmox server and it is located in my basement so it's not possible for me to connect my ESP directly to the Laptop. Also my laptop downstairs is extremely delicate and old and i basically build a entire system on it that controls my internet. My question : is there a way to detect the ESP remotely from my main PC? I'm running Ollama on my main PC and it's connected to my voice assistant so my next step is to make my normal devices like a microphone IOT. I just bought a ESP and i can't order a speaker & mic and i don't want to spent this stuff because i have some old laptops i can screw open and use their old tech that still works like the Mic or speaker.

For some reason, colors are not working for me in the ESH Welcome Card and the ESH Room Card. Wait they also aren't working in the Light Card. Do I have to enable colors someplace? I am referring to icons, on off colors, light sliders, etc.

devices haven't had bloat from overcharging issues in many years now. There's literally no reason to have the charger connected to a smart outlet if it's only use case will ever be as a panel. I've had an old moto z2 force plugged in for 4 years now without unplugging and it's just fine, sans highly diminished battery life off charger. You're actually reducing time to battery death by putting it through full charge cycles so many times, since they only have limited cycles

The fact that the tablet is constantly charging, over time this can result in some disaster no ? what are other options for power management taking in consideration the constant charging and also not having to charge the tablet every now and then

Wow, this video is exactly what I needed. I'd set up the exact same automation for my kitchen lights, but always had to do it as two automations, one for on, one for off. I had no idea you could add ID's to triggers and use the condition to call the one you want. This is a game changer. Thank you, you're a legend!

Well, my Green isn't plug and play, as I plugged it in and powered it, only to get an error -6 from my tablet, computer and phone, and a message of not found in the browser when trying to add it manually. I've tried to look all over the net for a solution, but seems I'm the only one having this problem. My network is working fine for all my other devices, and yes it's the same network for all of them.

I still had a plant sensor lying around but didn’t have a Bluetooth proxy. Thanks to your video, I was able to set it up, and now I’ve also connected the plant sensor. I even used ChatGPT to look up the plant’s name! Everything is working now-thanks so much. Maybe it would be nice to make a video about AI?
