In the Alexa app, when I enable HomeAssistant it takes me to HomeAssistant Cloud, and to Naub Casa. What can I do to restore HomeAssistant?

I watched this to get off of skyconnect. I keep having things drop off the network so I am trying a dedicated device that runs off of POE so that I can keep it farther from my server.

3 years later this was still a great guide to get Frigate setup. Thanks Lewis :) For those who are struggling to find the correct host name (@18:18) check under: Settings, Addons, Frigate, it shows the host name there. =)

I have a SkyConnect, and I think it works with Zigbee2MQTT now officially. I'd like to switch over, and it seems like it's a painless process to migration the other way around. Excited to try MQTT. I'm not sure about ZHA compatibility with light strips 'n such, so I'm going to look into Z2M. I also think Z2M is really neat. Confusing and complex, but it adds so many things to improve the network like allowing multiple coordinators and remote coordinators, so I'm starting to think it's the better option for me in the future.

Great content, thumbs up for that. Looking to recreate the process for my bed and getting some issues. All the wiring and calibration is done and works like a charm (had to switch E+ and E- pins since I was getting negative values). But as soon as I upload Bed_Sensor.ino with modified config.h - I'm getting all kinds of weard readings. It works fine for few measurements and then: Exception (0): epc1=0x40223560 epc2=0x00000000 epc3=0x00000000 excvaddr=0x00000000 depc=0x00000000 I'm not strong on Arduino or C++, so can't make heads or tales of it. I'm using same hardware except WEMOS D1 mini Pro. Can you direct me to forum or help me with direction to get this thing working? Thanks in advance for any input.

Only real issue for me is that it will only work with 1 chime and we have needed 2 on other doorbells (2 storey home) Can this be overcome with Google home or Home Assistant?
@Saturn28884 күн бұрын
3.5 years ago, Blueprinters were added and required YAML files rather than editing directly in Home Assistant. Today, it's the exact same. I wish I had an easier way of creating and testing these myself. Templating your Automations with Blueprints is super important. I have a lot of things that are very similar, and it'd be easy easier to make them all the exact same with a single place to edit them. I'm surprised Scripts have Fields as first-class UI citizens, but Blueprints are so difficult to add in. Lots of room for error and difficult to debug :(.

as someone very much opposed to openai's business model, I'm annoyed enough at integration, though understand the push. I'd be extremely pd and looking at other options if it was automatically enabled. I want to have zero things common with the likes of them. Also, it's not " we don't know what they do with the data". They sell, store and reference and essentially de-anonymise it.

I was considering this lock for a secondary door of mine (already have an August 4th gen with the Keypad working with the Yale BLE integration in HA on the front door), but hearing that it requires the hub is a deal-breaker. The rest of my switchbot kit works just fine using the Switchbot BLE integration and a few ESP32s being Bluetooth Proxies. I will likely just end up buying another August. :/

The issue I ran into was I couldn't open my garage. We went on a walk, and it was getting dark, starting to rain, and extremely hot. So we were stuck out there waiting for MyQ. Had to call my parents to open the door for us.

@EverythingSmartHome i had this stuff for a while now, extended openai conversation integration... and not all in wanky ways, my assistant can currently give me summaries of my working hours for the week( i use to check i got paid properly), i can tell it to download a movie, and it submits a request to ombi which sends it to radarr or sonarr and starts downloading almost instantly, it can check the status of media being downloaded, i gave it baseline stats which has lead to a really usefull set of features, such as yesterday when i asked it how everything is going(thats all i said) and it gave me a report detailing how my router has been losing wan connection intermittently so i asked it to check the routers logs and it correctly diagnosed my pos routers tables being jammed up and needing a reboot, which i then had my assistant do for me with a shell command which leads me to the best evolution of my assistant... now that it knows it can run shell commands, and has all my api keys and service logins for all my homelab gear. like i forgot to expose an entity to it, so it naturally replied i dont have any information, then i said you have all the information required to access my home assistant api, please get the information required from there, and the best way i could get command outputs back to it is with piping the output into a file and using a file sensor to let it access the results, but my voice assistant can indeed now communicate with my homelab apps and with the outside world through the command line, and i didnt even tell it how, all i gave it was api's logins and addresses in the prompt.

I use Z2M.. in your instructions you do the backup with Z2M and then upload it to ZHA? Does that mean I have to do a migration at the same time? I would actually really like to stay with Z2M, is there a way to restore the backup in Z2M?

Weird thing happened to me. Thanks to Lewis, I was using this setup for more than 2.5 years. Then few days ago suddenly, for whatever weird reason, the URL stopped working. Then, when I started digging, I found out that the DuckDNS addon, had mysteriously uninstalled. I never uninstalled, it was just gone. Then, I re-followed this tutorial and I was up and running in less than 5 mins, but with a small issue. I could not login locally with the URL. And this time, the difference was I was using pfSense. So, back online searching for answer, but luckily I found the solution on the very first article. On pfsense under System/AdvancedFirewall & NAT try setting “Enable automatic outbound NAT for Reflection” to true and “NAT Reflection mode for port forwards " to NAT+ proxy”. That was it. Anyway, I can confirm that this still works like magic.

Just don’t upgrade if you’re using an old iPad as a dashboard. It breaks Lovelace completely (as has happened before!). 2024.6.1 patch does not fix this. 😢
