You can also sync the key already in the ignition if you only have 1,just have someone in the car click the lock button at the right time

What happens if i push the pipe inside the fuel tank?? Will that affect fuel tank or engine in any way??

@@tusharpol858 you mean you pushed too far and can’t grab it? I don’t know that anything will happen other than it might hold a valve open and you may smell fumes. As long as you can fill it with a gas nozzle without it blowing back and splashing you. I’d almost say push more hose so it goes all the way to the tank and is out of the way. But that’s a guess. I’m not a pro on that one.

Ok so do I need that tool if I have a fob key and spare key only to reprogram a replacement fob just for the clicker part ? Can I use the keys instead of the screwdriver I mean

@@msknockout1 just match the fccid on your fob. That’s what matters. It might look the same but have different numbers. They used those for so many years so they look the same but they’re different fccid numbers.

@@msknockout1 some are on the inside written in the board itself. Most are on the casing. Mine is where the key blade flips out. In that crack. If you can’t find it google “vw key fob fccid” and I’m sure there are images.

Bro you are a lifesaver thank you so much.. I was trying to test a gas siphon in my 2021 Honda pilot that I have had for 3 weeks and got it stuck in there. I had no idea about an anti-siphon set up.. I used your trick and it came right out..Thank you for posting this

When I tried to take the locking mechanism part out, only the plastic covering came off but not the actual key hole part. Any way to remove it?

@@9IP808 yeah. That screw that I show in the video. The plastic is just a cover. The screw holds the mechanism in.

I still have the original battery in my 2018. During the lockdown it was sat in the garage for months and the stop/start has never worked since (which I was happy about tbh). I keep expecting it to die at any time, but it keeps on going!

@@hardcore4476 2011 is a different gen but I’ve seen several people post that it worked for a mk5. I’m trying to remember if it worked for a mk6 or not. Maybe search the comments. I’m on a phone so I can’t search. Give that a try

How do I do this when my normal key with the fob is all I have I don’t have a separate new fob trying to fix my actual key fob.

As long as the car starts (your key is programmed for the ignition) then this should work to program fobs. I was programming an extra but you should be able to program a “first” fob I believe.

@@questionantiquity as long as you can push the button on the fob while it’s in the ignition I’d think you could. The fob should still transmit.

@@questionantiquity well bummer. The weird thing is that the key blade and the fob are separate. There’s no way for the car to tell if it’s in the ignition or not when the button is pressed I didn’t think. Unless the immobilizer chip does it. But even then it’s not wired in. It’s glued into the fob. Weird. Sorry I’m not more help.

@@danielvandergraft1095 wow it should. 2001 is still a Mk4 model. I believe others have commented that they got 2000 and 2001 to work. I’d have to go look through comments but I believe they had done it.

Instead of bringing a gas can to a gas station for gas for my lawn mower I wanted just to siphon some gas from my car instead of making extra drives to a gas station 24 miles return. I was not able to siphon as my hose got stopped by the anti siphon screen so I just was not able to do it. Now I have a Ford Taurus and not a truck.

@@Victimizer68 it’s just like pex. It’s smaller though. Its refrigerator water line. I don’t know what they call it. I got it at Home Depot in the plumbing section. It’s the water line that runs from under your sink or from the wall or whatever, and up to your fridge for the ice maker. It’s that hose.

you saved me a trip to the mechanie. There is a 2nd GATE. I used an envelope opener to push and keep both gates open and then pulled the tube out! ridiculous that this isn't more common knowledge.

Very useful, but getting the siphon started was a bear on the dead vehicle that could not be rolled or jacked up on dirt. I used a pump, and detached the hose at the front end when it was below the tank level, then managed to get it onto a short and squat tank, which was the only kind of tank that was entirely below the bottom of the vehicle tank. Then, not having enough short tanks on hand, kept the siphon going and repeated the process by tilting tanks and transferring from the short tank to the other containers, which was much easier, then back to the short tank. The vehicle died after I filled it with very expensive ethanol free recreational fuel for storage purposes, which I can use for my outboard motors.

Yeah that good ethanol free stuff is liquid gold. If I did it again I’d put it on ramps or something to lift it. Anything to get the gas cans lower to keep the draw in the tubing.

That will work. You don’t need a working remote as long as you have a key for the ignition. You can do it just like I did and program the new remote without having a working remote. You should be fine. 👍🏼

Can someone help I have a 2000 Jetta tdi I tried this out new batteries in and everything still didn’t work and my key to the car obviously can start it but I can’t manually lock or unlock it with the key I can’t even turn the key to my trunk

Is it new? I wonder if someone before you changed the locks or changed out the ignition if the ignition key isn’t the door key. In 2000 they should have been the same key.

@@nolanbollenbacher609 yeah that’s what I’d think unless it was multiple locks and it sounds like it is. You could try graphite or a lock lubrication fluid but I’d multiple locks are doing it I doubt they’re seized.
